Anybody seen (or even heard of) .hack//dusk?

.hack//dusk (or, by anime junkies who subbed the anime on the web, .hack//legend of the braclet) is about 4 years after the video games.

.hack//dusk is more lighter then .hack//sign or the novel, AI buster.

Its about a boy named Shugo whos sister, Rena, moved out of the house after the divorce. Suprised to hear, Shugo gets a phone call from his sister saying they won a limited character contest (without entering ...i think) that allows Shugo and Rena to role play the legendary hackers Kite and Blackrose. Since Shugo hasen't played "The World" for quite a while and ends up acting like a total n00b. The two players meet all sorts of characters including a rare item crazed player called Miselya and a player who can transform into a wolf. Also, the characters from the video game series make a big apperence including Barumunk, Aura and The Crimzon Knight. When Shugo dies in the game, he notices he can't log out (sounds familer?) then, Aura appears and revives him, then gives him "the braclet".
Fans of the video game series will be filled with joy to hear the infamous phrases "DATA DRAIN!" and "GATE HACK!" and seem them in action.

Sadly, there are only 12 episodes cos its more of a fan series.

.hack//dusk is currently being aired in Japan and hopefully will be dubbed (for those of you who like dubbing) and aired in the states. But don't be suprised to see the breast bumping and the hot spring spoofs edited out. You know who those guys can get. :sweat:

.hack//TASOGARE NO UDEWA DENSETSU is the popular manga which .hack//DUST is adapted from. I believe it's longer running, and in my opinion, much better.

At AX2003, .hack//DUST was liscenced by some company which I can't remember. I think it was Bandai. It would make sense. :p

I really enjoy the manga. It's great to have a more light-hearted side story in a serious anime like .hack

No, the anime only has 12 episodes, i have them all, the story sadly ends on episode 12. It was only a fan seires, but it WOULD be nice if it was longer.

They coulda made it easier and just give it one name instead of 4 but hey, I'm not one to argue.

I saw that show while it was being fansubbed, and it was pretty good...until that horrible ending. It didn't make any sense at all, but hey... up until episode 11 I just loved it. I do like .hack//SIGN better, but that's just me.

Meh, I just call it .hack//DUSK, it's easier to type. And yeah, Bandai liscenced it. I think it would be awesome if it aired on TV, even though they would probably cut out the, er, incestuous undertones. :sweat: It's a lot lighter than .hack//SIGN, and that's on cartoon network, so... I think it has a pretty good chance of being on American TV.

And oooh, I love that opening theme.

Proud to say i have and have seen every episode....although there arent many. Its a lot better than SIGN. I think that show is So boring, im a fan of the animes with more action like Naruto and Gundam SEED but i liked DUSK

www.Anime-Kraze.net to get the series go into torrent, then click on the link to go to the page with all their downloads on it. This way is most likely much faster than kazaa as well as much more reliable. This site also has multiple other series including Inuyasha (they subbed BOTH movies), Ghost in the Shell : Stand Alone Complex, Scrapped Princess, Last Exile, Diverrgence EVE, and many more. Just this week they had their one year anniversery of the site. I think that this is my favorite fansubbing group and is the most reliable.

Back to .hack//DUsk, it is my favorite portion of the .hack series, i thought .hack//sign to be a bit boring at times, there was lack of action but once you understood everything you were blown away.

.hack//Udeden (What the creator uses ~_^) Was okay, but they violated a rule of anime that needs to STOP.

DON'T MAKE AN ANIME OUT OF A MANGA UNLESS YOU HAVE ENOUGH TO WORK WITH.

Because the anime progressed faster than the manga, they made up their own story, and it sucked (in the end, which is what they made up).

I've only read a few chapters, but everyone has told me the manga is a thousand times better.

Also, every single .hack has a bad ending (I've said this before.)
//SIGN, the games, //Udeden...didn't read //AI Buster or //Zero but people told me they didn't like them

I haven't seen .hack//DUSK but I look forward to seeing it, whenever that may be, I like .hack//SIGN and the PS2 games so I'm pretty sure I'll like DUSK.
