As for the download, I'll be logged off in DA just like 2 zillion other people to wait for a dragon when I log back in, so I'll be camping the download just as ferociously as I would Fafnir anyway. :/

It depends on my mood. Sometimes I don't mind camping stuff and other times I am not patient enough. If I did it all the time though, I definately would not like it.

To some people I would like to point out this little nugget. Please take note:


* You may receive errors such as "POL-1160" or "POL-0010" during the download process due to heavy server traffic. If you are unable to access the update, we ask that you please wait a while and then try again.


Waiting a while could mean TILL THE NEXT DAY in some cases. Please note this and do not make thread after thread about how you FFXI is broken because your download cancels/won't start. Thank you. This has been a moderator sanity request message.

The update also takes place at the time I can get FFXi access on Monday GMT. Why SE why?

Eh, I always thought it was humorous when people cry cuz they can't get on for a day. I'm not saying you need to go outside a day, but I will say there are tons of other games you need to play, too.

People still complain about the maintenance happening in EU playing times? Its not like its any less frustrating if you get home after 6pm in the US. Cuz everyone's trying to download the update hours after its out.

Thankfully, I get off work at 3:30pm EST, so I have a fighting chance.

It's not as if it would cause any disruption of SE were to do the maintenance a couple of hours earlier. But for me that maintenance starts at 6pm and finishes at 8pm on one of the few days a week I get the chance to play FFXI due to being too damn busy with college.

If you are THAT bothered about people who are annoyed at the maintainence times complain about it then don't read the post

Yes I'm annoyed that the time of the maintenance inconveniences me greatly deal with it. Are you willing to tell me that you WOULDN'T be annoyed if maintenance fell right into the middle of US prime time?
