I know it is a terrible way of fixing thing, but it get the idea across the player base much faster. For example, look at the S-E fix of 2-handed weapon with SAM's attempt on Hasso/Seigen, and compare to later 1st adjustment of 1 STR -> 1 attack & 1 DEX -> 1 acc, WS changes (including changes in Raging Rush, Skewer, etc).

Take a look at WHM's recently added spell Repose, and THF's recently added JA Accomplice (sp?).... it is nice, but not enough impact to player's mentality.

If new SMN avatars and PUP attachments is not powerful enough to stir up the players community, then I expect the players to react just similar on how they react on WHM's Repose: It is nice, but it won't hurt to have it or not to have it....

    Damn, I like that too.

The following are not valid arguments:
-They screwed it up once a decade ago so they should or will continue to do so
    -ZOMG SE panders to JP

What we are asking is for clarity and correctness in the logs.

IfritnoItazura, I've read everything you said. Its just the more you say, the more ridiculous you get.

    Like saying "March isn't Haste."

    It totally is a haste.

You're trying to make a distictions for what essentially is a different form of the same thing. If a PLD and RDM cast Flash and Blind at the same time, I know which one is wearing off first and I suppose that's different enough for me to tell the difference.

If we get what you want, then why shouldn't BLUs get chat log messages stating they've enfeebled the mob with slow when they use Sprout Smack. It gives the effect. I can keep going down the line on BLU with that thinking.

Additionally, why shouldn't COR get a notice that Dia was enhanced when we use Light Shot and so on?

We add one little, insignifigant detail and then people would want all these other insignifigant details added. Yet, these details are common knowledge anyway. So whats the point other than "making it like the JP client."

Dude, did you even read what I wrote, or just decided in your head what I mean to say, regardless of what's on screen?

I want to correct one bug (Flash's message), and would like the info from AoE spells/JAs/etc. to become more compact.
    Player 1 casts Protectra.
Player 1 receives the effect of Protect.
Player 2 receives the effect of Protect.
    ...
Player 6 receives the effect of Protect.
    That's 7 lines.
    Player 1 casts Portectra; Player1, Player2, Player3, Player4, Player5, and Player6 receive the effect of Protect.
That's 1 line. Both contain the same information; who casts Protectra, and who received the Protect effect.

    SAME INFO! (Just less space.)

One more time; fix one bug (so NA client behaves like JP client), make AoE info more compact. No changes to effect. No removal of information from log.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see how that would be possible.

Thinking about it, this might be kind of funny soloing BLM since I'll be resting to that battle music.

I do listen to the music ingame.

On that subject, while music isnt important, i rely a lot on sound effects to know whats going on around me, when the log is unreliable at times.

Am I the only one here that listens to custom soundtracks when fighting?

I'll listen to in-game music if I'm going to be changing areas frequently, but when grinding I'd rather jam out to some good ol' rock

I've fallen asleep in parties before.

Funny thing was, the Japanese players kept me around for thousands of EXPs before they kicked me out, for some reason.

When a Bard casts March on someone, it does not say [Player] receives the effect of Haste, no, it says they receive the effect of March. When a Ranger shoots a monster with a Acid Bolt, it does not say Additional Effect: Dia, it ways Additional Effect: Defence Down. Therefore, it only makes sense that when a player casts Flash on a monster, it should say they receive the effect of flash, not blinded.

To start with,t hat is a bad idea. Jobs should never be overpowered. That is the anti-concept of balancing a game. That was a mistake on SE's part, and besides, the majority of endgame merit parties are still comprised mostly of Warrior/Ninja Dual-Wielding Axes. That update didn't really do much, considering that Daggers/Polearms should be better then Axes on Imps anyway.
