A Mandragora crossed spliced with King Behe's Magic, Wamora's healing and Flan's WS...

Guard, Counter, High HP, regen WS, Meteor, Debuff remove with HP gain, Magic Def down...this could be a good time killer after all, heheheh

Nope that is what my ls and mhurron is for lol.

I just had higher hopes for the pit, then a pokemon rip off is all.

Pokemon is a family-friendly version of Shin Megami Tensei, which predates pokemon by, oh, a decade.

Since the FFXI pit will for the most part (ignoring players actions) be family friendly, calling it a Pokemon ripoff is accurate.

Are we expecting originality from all these mini-games? I don't see these games in much of an online context elsewhere much, if at all, and I certainly don't expect much originality from them.

Chocobo breeding and Camp Kweh is Nintendogs and Pokemon.

Chocobo Racing is a take on the Horse Racing sims popular in Japan.

Chocobo Hot and Cold is just that, Chocobo Hot and Cold from FFVII.

Nyzul Isle Assault is the 100 Level dungeon from other FF games.

The Pit is Shin Megami Tensei monster breeding. It resembles it in explaination much more than what Pokemon does, which is leave two critters at a nursery and maybe an egg will happen and it'll inherit an ability.

You're a ripoff of ... um... that RDM in FF1.

Anyway, its just plain said, nay, pathetic people already won't give The Pit a chance for resembling Pokemon, which they percieve as a child's game when its actually every bit as sophisticated as any good RPG is. There's just no emo cutscenes in them, instead, a shallow, throwaway story.

The best character got nerfed in the Wonderswan, GBA and PSP versions Only 8-bit RDM is hardcore now. 8-bit RDM could solo you.

It ffxi we don't have blood effects or even death we have ko status. Pokemon is very popular right now, and putting the almost identical phrase pokemon uses is a rip off.

Didn't we have chocobo breeding in ff7 or something similar? Or better yet try Monster Hunter, breeding came out way back then, before pokemon had it.

It seems like you don't need to breed the monsters just cetch them, which is like pokemon and Tm + Hm system.

Sev... I'm kinda confused as to why you're disappointed Wasn't it already known for a long time in advance that we'd be battling monsters against each other in the pit? Or were you expecting to play as a monster yourself in the pit?

Either way doesn't mean it didn't have greater potential. Its basically beastmaster v beastmaster pvp but w/o killing each other. Now it is official, so I am let down by it.
