The Blu was tanking cause they had god mode on and neither the Blu or the Pup were being damaged. And the fact that the pup was only h2hing meant it couldn't really *hold* any hate.

Blu will prolly be like Smn in that they can SC and MB on command while debuffing the mob. And I can all but assure you Blu won't be the melee/mage all the sword weilding Rdm want them to be. I still have yet to see a Blu use a WS. =/

Blu will definitely use mp i mean the PUP didn't need any muchless used any, blu will have their own magic skill and "aura" as you have seen, red mages need a aura when casting spells tho >.<

The puppet died quite quickly in the 3 heroes fight, even though it was never attacked directly. Only a few ga spells sufficed to take it out.

Therefore, I predict one of the following will be true:
1. PUPs will be able to do something useful that doesn't rely on their puppet, so they aren't *too* gimped by its death. The one in the video was just refraining from using the job's other abilities to keep them secret.
2. Dead puppets will be really easy to replace. The PUP in the video just didn't do so (either to keep it secret or, if it works like Call Beast, because the people who set up the demo fight neglected to supply him with more than one puppet).
3. PUP will be able to heal/repair their puppets, the one in the video just didn't do so (either to keep it secret or because it requires a repair kit, analogous to pet food, that he didn't have any of).
4. There are stronger puppets available at that level; the video showed a lower level puppet (perhaps the AF1 puppet; if they use no weapons other than the puppet, their AF1 should logically be a puppet) that isn't intended to be effective in that high-level combat. This would kind of disappoint me, because I want to see a variety of puppets at *every* level, like SMN, not just a progression from weak to strong puppets; but it's possible.
5. PUP will be gimp (at release) because they are too reliant on an easily killed, hard to replace pet; then a patch will implement one of the above or make puppets substantially tougher.

Any of the "keep it secret" explanations could also be "not implemented yet", I suppose. But I'd tend to think that they are mostly done with job design and probably even most of the code, this close to release, and they're just debugging and tweaking. Given the size of the print run they're going to need and the time required for international distribution, they probably don't have much (if any) time left before they need to go gold.

Based on the video you could conclude that PUP is headed for the same problems DRG used to have, except that PUP isn't even a competent attacker without a pet. Or SE is hiding something. I don't think they've forgotten what happened with DRG, therefore I think they're hiding something.

I think you are right Karinya, I'm definitely lving BLU though.

I tend to take after jobs that can solo well or have a broad range of abilities I think the BLU won't be able to solo given unless it has phalanx and stoneskin and can refresh itself, but the broad range of abilities is definitely there but hopefully most abilities won't be aoes...

or should i say the best ones and the equipping blu spells sounds like its going to limit soloing unlike rdm and other jobs which can pull all of their spells or tricks at the drop of a dime as well.

PUP in that video really disappointed me hopefully SE is hiding something they practically hid everything would make a job stand out like the blu did.

PUP should have another weapon besides H2H maybe club class weapons since no job really uses them unless its K club for tp the puppet could fit in the secondary slot where the shield is or SE could change to fit it into the ammo slot.

That was so TOTAL BS!! I watched that video looking to see just a glimpse of what was in store for us on PUP and..........NOTHING!! Not even weapons!! >.< That seriously irritated me!! Come on SE throw us a bone!! Jeez!

Yeah I don't even know why they put the Puppetmaster in that video. Do they not think we know what a Mithra looks like attacking with no weapons equipped?

Bluemage Demo guy is NOT used to playing as a mage type and should realize that you dont cast at the time a Mons smacks you. Thus you avoid interrupts.

BLU will be a hibred like NIN, But I see alot of Players turning it into Blu/whm simply because they are stupid. Red used to be a good Melee character when equiped with attack gear, but SE turned red more into magery than swordsmanship. If Reds sucked that bad *(and most do) Reds wouldnt be NM/HNM soloing gods.

With Blumages SE seems to go more on the Swords>magic side of things so a complete opposite of Reds. But stupid players and Desperate players will turn Blu into whatever its not intended to be.
Sorry if I sound harsh, but Humans tend to think in 2d, not 3d.
