I mean on the forum here i am currently staying at a place where next to all forms of social networking are blocked and games and almost anything interesting is blocked (except this site for some reason is not blocked) any on site guides?

Solo: Kill mobs of equal level (or maybe a bit higher, if you can handle it) to chain exp.

Group: ^ same but since there are more of you, can you just tackle in larger quantities...and try to always aim for mobs higher level rather than even matches...although it still goes pretty quick regardless.

The FFXIV system in measuring the level gap between you and the monster is similar to FFXI but has a much steeper curve the higher level you are. Case in point, if you're fighting a monster 4 levels above your current beyond level 30 (versus doing the same at level 5) A lot of different factors come into play, including a larger difference in the accuracy and evasion numbers and attack and defense. Generally best to stay at or within 1 or 2 levels of your current level when you are moving beyond level 30.

For me as GLA, it's more efficient to gather 3 to 5 mobs rougly 2-4 ranks below my current and AOE them down. I'm sure it's the same for other jobs or job skill combinations (soon to be class)

I'm starting to hate DoL. Any tips or tricks to speeding up my experience? I've been on Botany and made it to level 15 so far. I really want to just stab myself at this point... and I'm not even halfway there yet.

When leveling my caster jobs (CONJ + THM) I try to find mobs that I can burn in roughly 4-5 casts maximum (ideally 3, but yeah...) without having to throw a cure before running of MP. I be sure to burn blissful mind and necrogenesis between pulls and I just rest to full after burning my MP; this is a rinse and repeat process and I've generally gotten about 2-3 levels a day doing very casual play. Granted, I'm only in my low 20's so I may not have the best or most efficient way of leveling...in fact I'm sure there's probably something easier.

What I generally do with camps is I find one that's about my level, maybe 1 level higher tops and I stay there until I'm roughly 2-3 levels higher than the mobs and then I move on to a new location.

Hayde. When you reach level 30, would suggest going into Mor Dona. It's the Beastman-ruled zone to the far West of Gridania. Right as soon as you enter the area there are Puk Type mobs that are between level 30 and 34. At 32 I was able to 2-shot them with Stone -> Stonera and by 33 I was able to kill them with Stone -> Stone consistently.

Getting there is the tricky part. There are 3 different paths you can take to get to the zone line for that area. Only one of them is safe while the other 2 are blocked Malboro-type mobs that are level 83+.

Why are there obs who are level 83+? I have no idea. The better question is.... why are they surrounded by non-aggressive level 99 Goblins?

Walking to Mor Dona really shed some light on just how incomplete this game is... and how underhanded/lazy they were when trying to come up with path-blocking mechanics.
