I've gone long enough and can't hold back my dislike for the race names in FFxiv:

Elezen - sounds like Nazi elves.

Hyur - Personally I think this word sounds stupid. When spoken it sounds similar to something Carlos Mencia says all the time.....

Lalafell - only reminds me of Gulliver's Liliput and a child plugging their ears going, "lalalalallalalalalalala"

Roegadyn - I only hear Roegadyn w/ Minoxidil when I say their name... they better not all be baldies.

Miqo'te - why the apostrophe? Did they come from {se'a} ??? Needless apostrophes was annoying for FFxi ... glad they want to continue that tradition.

Sorry... I just needed to get that lil bit off my chest. I just don't like the new race names very much. Can't wait til we hear about their counterparts: the "Animal-peds" ... you know.. the birdlike Wingdouchoos... the tortoise-like Shell'via'lvia'ns... the smaller maniacally pyro Gooberginas... and the green and warlike P'orx.

Rofl.. Hyur is really the only one that bugs me.. They look the same, as Hume, so just call them Hume damn it.

Apostrophes aren't useless. The difference is there. Miqo'te is pronounced Mee-ko-tay/teh, while Miqote could be mistaken for Mee-coat.

OMG I busted out laughing! As for Lalafell, first we call my cousin Laura...LaLa. So LaLa fell....lame. But the first time I saw it I went falafel??
