But then is MAG an MMO considering the M in MAG is "Massive"?

Kailea is right, technically speaking if everything is instanced and you only play with a handful of people at any given moment it's not massively multiplayer. It's just multiplayer.

I mean, that'd be like calling Halo an MMO.

MMO stands for Massive Multiplayer online game.

Its online and its player base is fairly massive. Ever walk through the busy town? Theres TONS of people in those towns always trying to do something.

Yea, its all instanced, but its still an online game. Even the PvP is instanced, but you do have a good amount of people fighting at once.

The reason why its called a MMO though, is because its all online.

If you played Champions, it has an offline version and an online version. If it was all online, it would be a MMO.
in the defenition of MMORPG, for a game to be called a MMORPG, it has to have at least one persistent world...... GW does not have that, its nothing more then a big pretty #D dungeon crawler, or MORPG

Go take a look on plane shift. That game is heavily based on Rping. Everything you do is Rp. You need to Rp to talk to other players, and NPCs. If you talk too much OOC, you can get a warning from the Gms. Its a really good game that is based around role playing, and is really fun once you get into it. The game is still in development though even though its been in development for... 7 years lol.
