I sorta disagree with not hasting a PLD, maybe its just because i like more leeway when i can afford the MP in case something happens, but i would think by around AF with the Enmity + gears, Haste could help with hate gaining. I can understand it shouldnt be crucial, but i really dont see how it hinders people.

LOL Xphere I have just the opposite problem. I always use my haste but I find the rdm's I pt with refuse to do it regularly. They will do it if you tell them to but usually only that one time! LOL

I always haste the tank no matter what job. Haste and regen are two of my favorite spells.

Well I work out who haste's who when we have a rdm in the pt. Or the pt leader does it. Either way 4/5 rdm's will cast haste the first fight on the person they were assigned and won't do it again until they are told to. I don't haste the person at all because I don't pay attention to if the rdm is doing it. I shouldn't have to babysit. But soon enough the melee not getting haste speaks up or the pt leader does and thats when I know the rdm isn't doing their job. I also /t the melee, apologize and tell them I'll watch and try to pick up the slack if the rdm doesn't do their job again. But it gets hairy trying to do part of someone else's job and your own so haste might come a bit late.

I know what you mean... Sad but so true, so many Rdms out there play so poorly they made a bad reputation for themselves Everyone would agree that "90% of Rdm are bad." To play Rdm, one needs to pay attension to so many things. Keeping a close eye on the chat log is necessity...

speaking of which, I just missed my haste cycle while typing this.

lol the the other 10% of the rdm want to melee an forget to do simple things like fresh, an debuff.. seriously about 97% of the rdms out there absolutely suck, 2% are 75 an dont lvl anymore, an 1% actually rock.

i dont want to hate on rdm, but this is from what i have experienced over my 70 lvls of ninja. i mean you must know your bad when the whm has to ask every couple mins for refresh. even in the 60's. i dont thinks its hard. rdm refreshs himself, then whm. when the rdms refresh is gone. the whms has got to be losing theres..

I PT with a Rdm as 32 Brd. And after 30 minutes I couldn't stand him anymore -_- He melee, of course, not staying back for ballad. And on top of that he wanted to be the puller! So, every fight he burnt all his MP, rest till full and run out to dia pull.... I bear with it for a bit then I started talking to him top stay back for ballad
"I'm not a freaking Whm or Blm"
"There's no reason for me not to use my sword"
"You're a taru, you stay back. Not me" (he's a hume)
                  So I left. -.-

Anyway you'd be surprised how many bad 75Rdm are out there. It's not only the skill alone, it's their attitude too.

in response to whm+rdm+nin in same pt,

                    i will always haste,
the way i look at it 40mp refresh if the tank was a pld, hence nin gets a 40mp haste,
I like nin tanks becouse i can ref-me>hast-nin>ref-mag with no stop or waiting on timers.

haste has a little bit long last than refresh,

The only time you should (maybe a must) haste a RNG is when he's using a Sarnga Delay 720, that one helps a lot in the TP generation for Skillchain.

And i don't care if i'm hasted or not, for one part i sub /nin to be secondary tank :p

Usually I will insist to do all the hasting... Refresh/Haste/Enfeeble cycle makes waiting on timers a lot less painful....

                          For instance...

Refresh Myself -> Haste PLD/NIN -> Gravity/Paralyze -> Refresh PLD etc. This makes waiting for timers a lot less painful. Still, there are sometimes when I don't feel like hasting every melee (non RNG).

WHMs and RDMs in my linkshell insist that haste helps healing MP and keep hasting at my SMN. I tried testing but have yet to see a difference.

Always haste your tank first, whether it be NIN, PLD, or WAR, or anything else. It will save you much MP in the longrun.

Traditional EXP parties will have 2 melee damage dealers, the only ones that don't need haste are RNG's. I'd strongly recommend hasting both your melees as well, as it will make your mobs die much, much quicker, and thus save you more MP as your chain continues on.

If you find yourself running out of MP on a low chain #, try removing the melee with fast TP gain from your haste cycle, and see how the next chain goes. The best thing to do is just keep adjusting your pattern of spellcasting until you're being as efficient as you can. The WHM that works outside of a set of rules and adapts to each party or situation is a smart-thinking WHM.
