I just want to point one thing out. Casting haste on somebody with the effect of slow will cancel slow and give them the effect of haste.

Except for Spiders Slow, that one needs to be erased first.

not to mention Haste costs 40 mp and Erase is like 18 or so.

If you're fighting spiders, that's what you have to do. It's not a choice.

You're thinking "crawler slow", which, yes, is resisted if the target is hasted, and haste removes the slow if it happened to stick...

As said before: spiders are different. If you're hit with Spider Web (which you will be if you're in range: it's non-directional like the crawler attack), the only way to remove it is with Erase. Haste will "have no effect" if you try to remove it that way. Even if they were hasted they -will- be slowed by spider web.

So, yes, that means first thing is Erase then Rehaste tanks. That's 60mp or so every time the tank is slowed by a spider.

Did I mention I hate xp'ing on spiders?

I've just started XPing again on Bark Spiders in Dragon's Aery. It gets to the point where it's not worth re-Hasting the tank simply because the damned things will use Spider Web as soon as the recast timer for Erase is up. The only way we could take care of the problem effectively was to have the RDM sub WHM, so we had WHM and two mages with /WHM, and have each mage Erase one of the melees when Spider Web occured.

I make sure my tank has haste all the time. So when a spider does slow he's the first to get Erased. I just find it frustrating when a spider does its slow on several people and they all start barking for Erase. I think more than whm's need to be educated on when Erase and status effect spells should be used. >.<

People don't realize that there is a delay with Erase and your also responsible for peoples health, so it might take a bit to get to them. Spamming Erase Please over and over just isn't going to get it done any faster.

Yesterday I ran into a pt leader that yelled at me for using Erase. "It's a waste of mp and we need to conserve mp." So I stopped using it. I would cast it on the 2 dd's before a sc or at the end of a fight because we were fighting crabs with str down. Yes they do spam it but I think you need to cast it on the dd's before a skillchain and before the next mob is pulled. My pt leader didn't feel the same way.

And of course you have the annoying flies that poison over and over. It's 1 mp a tick and the pld was acting like he was going to die if he didn't get Poisona IMMEDIATELY. (Even though he had Regen 2 on him most of the time.)
