at lvl 72, do you prefer errant gear while xp'in or vermillion cloak?

pls only answer if you are lvl 72 and own both or have owned a vermillion in the past.

i'm currently lvl 70 and i owned a vermillion but sold it when i took a break from lvlin to get a lu shang's rod. now i;m ready to lvl again but i'm pretty close to new gear. i cant imagine lvlin without a vermillion since i had one before, but does the errant gear with all its bonus' make up for the lost of auto-refresh?

should i strive for 72 with just AF and switch to errant? or at 72 is vermillion still better than errant while xp'in?

Definately buy the errant houppelande, that +mp while resting+dark staff will cut downtime by a bunch. You can always use both. Use the houpellande while resting, and switch on the vermy when youre standing.

Auto-refresh works out to be about +7 mp recovered on the first tick, and about +4 mp recovered on subsequent ticks. The +5 mp recovery on the errant houppelande is *slightly* better. However, you can use the Vermillion while standing and still get the additional MP. Errant Houppelande doesn't really add much for you (+10 mnd...whoopdeedooo), so if I were you, I'd go with the vermillion.

unless you have a wonderful headpiece, i would wear the vermillion over the errant.

i do feel that vermillions are dreadfully overpriced though, while the errant coat is a fantastic buy for the price. if you already sold your VC, it cant hurt to give the errant a try before deciding to buy back your VC.

I'd personally use Noble's/Vermillion while standing and then while sitting use errant, it's not much MP but it helps..

But if you have to choose between the two Vermillion > Errant. Refresh works out to about 1200 MP an hour.

Only trouble with Vermillion Cloak for WHM is there is no -Enmity, which can be a liability, since the Errant Houppelande is -5 Enmity. This is particularly true if your main tank is NIN/WAR, since their aggro control is always a bit sketchy.

With a good PLD tank, or any tank with lots of +enmity and a Kraken Club, enmity issues disappear, and the Vermillion becomes an asset.

Hmm... I just looked at my Houppelande and you're right. Sorry, had it confused with the other pieces, which are generally -1 more enmity than the WHM AF (Healer's Briault is -4). Even so, sacrificing the -Enmity is a bad idea when you're spamming cures and Flash unless your tank is on top of things (sadly, not always the case even at level 72 ; ; ).
