People who are slow to provoke, because they don't have a provoke macro.

Main tanks that don't provoke at all.

Stupid Black Mages who love to drop the hammer on a mob before the front line establishes hate. You aren't accomplishing much, aside from becoming a liability 5 seconds into the fight, congratulations. Everybody loves a good Black Mage, nobody likes watching a crappy Black Mage tanking, because they can't keep their finger off of the trigger.

Back Up healers that are always out of MP, when the time comes for them to Back Up.

My newest thing thats been happening to me is a party that logs out and leaves me high and dry, Imagine a Whm doing battle with a Wand by him self.
Just yesterday a bottle neck in the Dunes Gob arrgo'ed me when my whole party just logged, ran off or what ever. I try to sneak around to zone, Dead.
Oopps I forgot that i had my HP set at Northeast Jugner. That was from a previous party to get to Jeuno. Well i made it back to La Theine Plateau with out D'leveling.

What ticks me off is when I'm in the middle of doing something, and random people come and demand that I teleport them for free. Now I'm a white mage. My job is to geal, therefore I don't charge for raises, but teleportation is a service. I have to take time out of something I am doing to teleport people without compensation. Considering it is hard for white mages to make money, I could use it so if someone pays me, I will gladly teleport them, but rude people who demand me to are not getting anything. What's wrong with charging? I don't see anything. Half the time, it is still cheaper than a chocobo, and much faster too. So that is a service I'd gladly pay for. If you want free teleports so badly, level up your white mage.

My first experience as a backup healer wasn't too bad. The trick is to save some mp, and let up on the nuking, like for low levels, stop nuking like mad when you get around 45 mp, cause by then the whm is about to run out...

Even better with another BLM around. ANd..if you're one of the poor ones like me, who dont have fire/blizzard etc, you can REALLY assist the whm then, by falling back on your white/black enfeeble magic(also it becomes more understandable to the party if there is another blm around.)

3. Being asked for power leveling. Oh god, I never thought it was as bad as people say until it started happening to me. >_<

I'll tell you the truth ~ they dont give a got damn shit about you. Long as you pl them, thats all that matters, no they will not voke either. I used to did not mind pling people, cause they were nice and paying me for it(donations; not me charging) ...but then the assholes bureau came into my server and now..well I dont do it no more. If you pl a war or someone with war sub and they dont voke the first three rounds or so after you cured them, leave them high and dry. And...

When you tell them "no" you never ever hear from them again. And this is for those "rare" people who are on your friend list that ask you for it.

Think about it...the only benefit whms get out of pling is Healing Skill. When it's maxed, whms get nothing out of it. So think about that before bugging whms to pl you and your only form of appreciation is lack of courtesy.

My biggest pet peeve is this..

Asking the whm to join your party and YOU ARE SEVERAL REGIONS AWAY FROM THERES. I HATE that! If I am not seeking DONT ASK ME TO JOIN~! And nooooooo I'm not going to spend 30 mins trying to get to Kazham ALLLLL the way from SAN D'ORIA.

laf, at lower lv's it's better if they don't provoke. I have to spend less MP healing them and I get nice shield skill ups. But surprisingly enough, I never had anyone ask me for plv.... probably the /anon thing

and I don't understand why the backup tank shouldn't provoke when you get the agro. He probably doesn't know if or when the main tank will have voke up and so he's doing his job when the mob goes after the mages for any reason, he should and apparently is provoking.

As to back up healing. Um... the whole point of back up healing is so you can use less MP. I've been playing smn/whm lately and I find that if I keep spamming cure, the main whm will almost never have to use a Cure 2. Sure, sometimes this results in a wasted heal but it's only 8 Mp. No big deal. I usually have 180/288 after a fight anyway.

Problems with raise requests, plv requests, or any other asinine thing ====> /blist add Name

Solved all my problems so far. Well technically, I might be missing out on some pt invites that these blisted ppl might send me in the future... but ask yourself, would you want to pt with someone who's been plved and doesn't know how the game works anyway???

hurray for the /blacklist !! This thing has been getting rather long lately....

oh ya, my pet peve: main tank afk in valkrum for 30 min. Then plays for 5 min, then afk for 20 min, and 2nd tank doesn't know what a provoke macro is. Then main tank comes back and says "Damn you guys are impatient."

Response: "I wonder how you'd feel sitting around waiting for an hour for that cure??"
---> disband (no one was fighting and no one was pulling at the time)
---> turn on seek pt flag
---> /blist add Name
---> Does a happy taru dance at leaving morons.
---> Get a nice tell message from another pt

This is a blessing. Why should I just be sitting around in Jeuno doing bog all when I can nick off somewhere and farm while waiting for an invite? Granted, Teleport spells and Warp help greatly and you're not at that level yet, but PT invites should not be taken lightly like that. If you're not particularly busy and you get a PT invite then it's good to go for it. And if you are busy then you should indicate so in your search comment.

I hate it when i'm a different job than my whm, and people ask/demand me to go change my job to whm to teleport them!!!! That gets on my last nerve!!! Last night I was lvling summoning magic skill, and a ls member asked me to change my job to blm, FIND a teleport and go them cast warp 2 on him!!!! Can you believe that! All because he didn't change his sub job. It was his mistake. I was so mad! The nerve of people.
Anyways just thought i would share.

A few ppl even get steamed that I won't run back from the maze of shakuzumi to windurst and change jobs so I can teleport them from jeuno to mea.

(now they can see perfectly well where I am when they search for me or even showing up on the linkshell list. Why do they still ask such dumb questions I'll never know)

I totally agree. I swear that some people think that we're all NPC's with teleport and that FFXI is a 1 player console game.:mad:

I've got another one to add.

Melee who have no consideration what so ever for the safety of their team mates and are happy to jeporadise the safety of the entire team becayse they won't spend a few lousey K on a stack of Silent Oils + Prism Powders. We all know what happens, they invariably loose sneak and invis in the middle of a load of nasty mobs the team members / entire team die's trying to save their inconsiderate ass.

I won't be sticking my neck out for these players again. A few Raise 1's for constant re-offenders will motivate them to bring silent oils + prism powders.

No. It is not a blessing. It's annoying. Extremely annoying, and *ahem* "Im busy" in search comment?? Hello....? Think a party leader who NEEDS a whm BAD will care if you're busy..? Granted, Ive done that before and the person paid my search comment no mind. If I dont feel like partying I just dont. Not taking advantage of the fact that I get them in 2.5 seconds either. Just what I said, if I dont feel like it. I dont feel like it.

I've traveled MANY miles to a pt just to die cause the pt sucked. Realizing exactly why the leader couldnt get one in the area he/she was in.

Teleports are a different story. /tell me all you want. 500g adds up. XD

simple solutions to many, many of your problems. use /anon
