  • About ur Limit Break

    When you do your special limit break that you can do only once per two hours, does it always raise the hate in monsters to go after you no matter what? Like 100% of the time? Thanks.

    Hmm..

    I'm not really sure about this but I think it doesnt. If it does then it would be easier as WAR just need one Provoke to make sure the monster wont hit other party member.

      Well thats not the point because as you can see, if a mage did that and well the hate goes up all for you, then ur pretty much...yea dead. Because i usually hear that mages die when they use their powerful limits. So i am wondering if thats more of a sacrificial move than a power move...because usually the monster doesnt go with the provoke or taunt because their hate is so high for the mage, the thing doesnt care. Any good answers?

        i've seen it used to a benificial effect. Often the whm will use it and get hate, but everyone else will be attacking the monster right afterwards, and war's using provoke, and they usually get pulled of the whm before they die. I'm not even sure if it always goes right for the whm. Anyways my point is that it's not a sacrificial move 100% of the time.

            Most of the time after I use it, it usually means death for me unless I can zone. Haven't had much luck with PT's pulling the mob off me afterwards but there's been a few occasions where they did manage to do so. Usually means mass healing of myself afterwards cause the monster had hit me once or twice.

            Call me selfish but if I get hit a lot during fights I usually won't even bother using my 2hr cause you know for a fact that you'll die anyways. Those are the bad parties.

              Yup, the first time I used my special ability in a party, the monster went right after me and killed me in about 3 hits.

                I think another job ability for whm, should be a 1hour reusable single heal skill. So you can save the tank but it wont cause as much hate as a full group heal. And if its like a lvl 30 ability, then if a lvl 60 whatever subs whm, they can use it also, for certain occasions. I think thats a pretty good idea.
                But to stop it being too powerful, it only heals a certain amount for each lvl the whm is, main or sub, like if your lvl 30 it will heal 400hp or so and if its lvl 60 it will heal 1000hp. Good huh?

                  WHM two hour does generate the second most hate next to a Paladin's Invincible. If you just recklessly use it you will die. I remember my teen levels I died so much because I would use Benediction. I've used it and had 3 or 4 provokes used to try and get the monster off but not working. But, it can be used and you live. You must wait until the absolute last moment to use it. Try and wait until the monster is almost dead so hopefully your PT can kill it before it kills you. Also, if you have the MP and time, cast Blink and/or Stoneskin on yourself before you use it, you can take about 5 hits from a tough and 2 or 3 from an Incredibly Tough before they both wear off.

                    Yeah, benediction raises a lot of hate... but usually, a whm would only use it if they were out of mp and everyone was close to dying anyway, so it's moot at that point.

                      Yeah, even though thy're not limit breaks or desperation moves, they are used in a time of desperation, a whm is usually about to die, or the whole rest of the party is about to die, which means the whm is dead anyway by the time the whm usually uses it. Now curaga and curaga II can be also quite good at getting the hate, plan accordingly. As a matter of fact, yesterday, I saw someone in battle, and being the nice guy that I am, threw a cure thier way and ran off, kind of a good cimeritan thing. I ran off, but suddenly started getting chased by thier monster... Monsters don't like healers.

                        If your going to heal someone that's not in your party and that's fighting someone, then you should wait for the hate to build up on that person before you cast Cure, unless they're dying..

                          well I think u guys are overreacting to the amount of hits u can take with a WHM. I do know with a BLM I can take up to about 4 hits from an IT depending on how Incredibley tough it is. BUt I do know that VT and T monsters deal only about 30ish to 40ish a hit and with my life thats a good 5-7 hits. Remeber I"m a BLM and I know WHMs get a hell of a lot more armor, plus more HP.

                          Anyways unless u guys are talking about the L60s or somthing. I"m only near 20.

                            The really messed up part about getting someone else's monster's hate on you is that you can't even attack the thing & defend yourself ...

                            The other thing about the 2-hr is, I would think it would get worse the higher lvl you went ... I mean, more HP means more healing means more hate.

                              Id like to have seen a whm ability on a large timer that would reduce hate on yourself.

                              The big heal can arguably save the party, but in any situation where you required to save the party with heavy heals and get aggro on yourself I think an ability that allowed the party to easily aggro the mob off of you could be much more valuable.
