Why is it so hard to get skillups? ; ;

I use both Axe and Great Axe, but lately (since about level 40), I've found that my skills are starting to lag behind my level. Right now I'm level 43. My Axe is only 126 and my Great Axe is 125. What's the deal? Why do my weapons' levels go up so slowly? I partied in Western Altepa last night for about four hours straight and I only got two levels with my Great Axe (used it the entire time). Could the fact that I'm munching on Meat Mithkabobs (used to offset loss of Attack from Defender) make a difference? Most of the beetles checked High Defense, or normal to me.

I think that your actual attack/accuracy doesn't matter, only that given by your weapon proficiency. With a bard or Agressor on, most mobs check IT-low D low-evade to me, but I still get skill-ups.

I had the same problem re: skill ups, at the same point you're at. But then in Crawler's we did a lot of fighting against Toughs and VTs for Exoray mold and I got a lot more skill-ups. It seems like I get more skill-ups against those than ITs.

Now my skill with axe and great axe is 1 and 3 points below cap, respectively, and I'm 1.5k into 47
