Its all been said, but THF/NIN can blink tank better than NIN, only downside is they dont have provoke.

I leveled my thief from 28 to 31 last night with a WAR in my party. We started on Spiders and Beetles in Eastern Altepa Desert and then moved to Sauromugue after we all had gained a level.

Before level 30 and Trick Attack, my SA+Fast Blades were doing around 180-250 damage and normal SA around 100 damage. Every hit I did was 12-20 and I'd attack around 2-3 times as fast as the WAR/THF because of low delay and dual wield.

Meanwhile, most of WAR's hits were around 45-50 and his WS around 100. This means the WAR was only doing slightly more melee damage than me and less WS damage overall.

However, once I hit level 30 my WS with only 100% TP did this to IT mobs:

On top of that, my SATA did 204-234 damage 2-3 times every fight we didn't do our skillchain, all of it helping the tanks keep aggro. When counting SATA, my weaponskills, and the renkei the damage was not even close between the WAR and I, even though he had just gained Sneak Attack.

I can't wait until I hit level 33 to pump out even more damage.

Sorry, i have been MIA for awhile , im looking through my screens now to see if i took some. And thanks for u ppl that actually know what a thief is capable of, and for those of youwho dont, you shouldnt talk till u know wtf u talkin about. Yes i did solo him, yes a WHM tried to help me and i yelled at them, no bloodtear couldnt hit me, i used 6 Powders whole fight, and your worng, my Dancing edge does close to 600 if not more, funny part was i forgot to eat food while fighting.

yeah, THFs r strong, a lvl 70 thf could prolly own my ass in ballista, providng i didnt Last Resort>SATA>Spiral Hell him :spin: , other then that I hit like 1ce every 20 seconds if I could even hit a THF (well i could easily hit a thf but the avrg drk dosnt have my gear, just /check me in my sig). i mean there Evasion is so freaking high and yes, THF is really a good job to play as, if i was to add up the dmg i did and the dmg a thf did in a fight, theyd probley out dmg me, but i doubt they could out dmg me cuzz of my insane gear and weapons. but i, a dark knight, lvl 75, could probley not kill hit BB without a WHM. but i could hit the other NM BB coughcoughbubblyberniecoughcough

oh and some ppl dont realise thfs soloing capabilities like someone has stated they are very good allyes

Love to watch people say this is impossible..

I basically soloed this on NIN at like level 61 (Back when I used ATK gear over evasion gear) then at 75 on THF without even using bloodly bolts or being hit at all.

If a NIN 61 with no evasion can solo this then a THF which have way higher base evasion and bolts get HP back can do far better.

As for the idiot that said THF are weak.. Dancing Edge does 500-1000 straight up to monsters same level as your or lower, maybe you should play THF before you talk?

NIN and THF can both solo monsters like Amemet and Aquarious without having much problems becuase of their massive evasion. Aquarious basically attacks like he has 100 Fists so without evasion you are pretty screwed..

The soloing power of NIN and THF should never be doubted. (Especially if u used merit points on evasion :sweat: )

Just took this guy down without any problems whatsoever.

I'm 66 thf/nin, was wearing:

emp pin
heavy crossbow - bloody/acid bolts
stun knife+1
musketeer commander's falc.
aketon
rogue's culotte
leaping boots
survival belt
nomad's mantle
flouritex2
spike necklace
rogue's armlets
dodge earringx2

Fight went:
Sleep bolt claim
Cast utsu (sleep didn't stick really but it missed me anyway)
It missed a crapload, and bloody bolts easily covered what it hit me for, with a ton to spare. I didn't use but one acid bolt (which wore off fairly early in the fight), and maybe 10-12 shihei. Possibly more. It missed me enough that I was consistently able to reapply utsusemi after 2 shadows were gone. (And have a LOT of room to spare to do so.)

Now, a bunch of LS people came out to cheer me on when I said I'd claimed him, and of course I invited my boyfriend -- but he got there half-way through the battle and I made him promise to stick to slow and paralyze. (and I did get a protectra II at that point)

The ram bleated once, nearish the end of the fight, but only hit me once after it was on, even though he kept doing the evasion down move. When bleat wore, I got a Cure II (and at some point, a regen I), but the ram barely touched me between bleat and death.

No shield.

And, hopefully, that settles that.

Just to go on the record: I do not have any spectacular gear, and it still couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. As far as ninjutsu-usage, I didn't bother. He was too easy to justify expending the tools. Bolts -- I used only one acid bolt, one sleep bolt, and maybe seven bloody bolts (most of which I used after bleat wore off toward the end). Though I had someone para/slowing him, this ram would have been cake without. I have NO doubt whatsoever than a 65, or even a 63 thf/nin could do this...possibly lower with a good deal of intelligence and foresight.

The only people that doubt a thf/nin can easily solo things like this are the ones that think thf don't get any better than they they are pre lv15.

FYI as 75thf/nin I solo'd Aquarius down to about 10% without any bloody bolts, regen food, potions or anything. And I wasn't even using evasion gear (had hecatomb on at the time)

I love it when a class other then RDM, NIN, THF, or BST claim a mob to be impossible to solo.
To watch those job classes that are worthless outside of party's scream in jealousy that its impossible to solo certain NM's and HNM's almost gives me a boner...

XD Wish I could relate, but as it is, all i can do is solo stuff that i needed a party for 2 levels prior. Closest i got to being on par was soloing IT Worms in Koro Tunnel at lvl 20 or so (w/e lvl i got Silence), competing with parties a level lower or higher than me...

I saw a thief solo Serket the other day. Took him forever to kill. And as far as Savage soloing Bloodtear congrats and all but this has been done before. I don't understand why you had to post about it.
