Erm, obviously I should clarify my point.
Actually, I overlooked True Strike, but it should be noted that thfs do not have access to it until 63, and until True Strike, Combo (or, yes, Raging Fists) is still the best choice (they are both E grade weapons, after all).
The reason I did not bring up the mnk sub is because I wasn't talking about a thf going full h2h, but a thf who only has war or nin leveled in terms of usefulness versus bones (which you do have to fight now and again). Thf/mnk is actually another issue. I don't care to level yet another job (I've got gear for my 26 war, 28 nin, 33 whm, and 25 blm >< ), so I just go /war for bones. It's gimped now (I leveled the other day...crap...). I would likely only ever level mnk for a sub if I decided to go full h2h, which I would never do because I'm an advocate of A grade weapons (or at least B...come on!). Only reason I even have /war leveled was because it was already at 20 (from when I leveled it for thf, pre-30), so when I had to fight bones, I wanted h2h and ninja kinda blows for that...so I used /war and kept leveling it for those types of fights, which don't really happen often enough for me to really feel much pressure to level mnk.
Besides, some guy just gave me the idea to level club skill for True Strike in 8 levels
But yeah, my point still stands...a thf could go /war and not really have to worry so much about bones pre-63. Just keep h2h high and a thf/war is fine. Not so great, but fine. Note that even with a capped h2h and a life belt (no snipers yet >< ) my accuracy was only 50%. Yet, I still outdamaged the entire party o_O We didn't have a monk, though, and I doubt I would have outdamaged one of those.
50% accuracy is *very* bad for tp gain, especially since skeletons blind you every battle pretty much. But, it's better than -50% damage on a weapon that isn't very damaging in the first place. o_O
