Meaning for every 10 hits of a Thf/war, a Thf/nin would have done only 1 more hit.

Feel free to dispute on what i have said. Personally i love thf/nin.
The only thing I'd point out is that while Dual Wield does not "interfere" with Triple Attack, Double Attack does. To wit:

      1) Any attack that activates both Triple Attack (3A) and Double Attack (2A) wastes the 2A. The first two hits of Triple Attack count for Double, and there's just another attack added. That means that the (admittedly rare) triggering of 3A could potentially waste a 2A.

      2) When 2A activates, the second hit cannot trigger 3A. In other words, even if 2A bumped /WAR up to the same number of total hits as DW, DW has more 3A eligible hits.

utsusemi: ichi is useful in certain camp ground! hunting raptor at cape terrigan and valley of sorrow; torama at onzozo; without the 3 times blink u are dead before u return to your party

i want a kraken club >_<! i wonder how evil a thf/nin can become with triple attack and kraken club? hehe........ /grin

Hmm I pull all the time in cape terrigan and never needed utsusemi.. Never had any problems getting hit more then once Besides I kinda wanna get hit 1 time to raise evasion.. I dont know why I would want to use utsusemi all the time other then to save the mage a cure but oh welll..

Neway I hear all the talk about Kraken Club sure its a nice weapon But Thief is Rank E with club that is horrible.. If you used that club in Exp party Vs IT that means Miss miss miss miss and very low damage did u check out the DMG rating and your super low skill cap ill be surprised if u do more then 2 damage a hit.

For farming purposes It looks nice but other then that it looks like junk.. I bought a Greed Scimitar because I just turned 60 today I have it capped and well.. It pretty much sucks compared to my +1 darksteal kurki.. All I do is miss with IT and I do have life belt and those flourite Rings. even Lightning Bow.. Helps my SA TA alot but takes forever to get TP.... I'm only using daggers and thats it from now on.

Now in my opinion a WAR/NIN would be better off with Kraken club since they are rank B with Club.

          Your thoughts welcomed.

Puling in valley of sorrows is generally a lot longer pull than cape teriggan which makes a big difference if you have blink or not then...try it ^^

I use greed scimitar when farming/ key hunting etc but during exp I find the TP gain is too slow due to drastically slower swing speed ><

uh... just my 2 cents but no one has mentioned that super little lv 9 spell that ninjas get called tonko:ichi

              gives you invisible...

no big deal? well uh,,, ever lv in kazam? go over to the other jungle? and the whm doesn't want to walk back and you don't have instant warp scroll cause it costs 700 Conquest points? And the only other way to get back is to just die and ghetto warp?

well out of a crappy pt in kazam (oh big shock) I walked back to town just fine and dandy with tonko:ichi and just used 2 casts. No one else made it back to town by walking. I spent like what? 100 gil to walk back to town on my 28/14 thf/nin? Everyone else spend 500 ish exp to get back... which included a 27 thf/war who was in my pt too...

I think I came out on top :D

Crawlers and Malboros are both sound aggro. Invis still gets you killed.

true but there are no crawlers or malbro on the walk back to kazam from yhoat, as pertaining to the leveling spots close to zone from 26-32, just lots of goblins on the way back...

unless you get lost of course you won't see crawlers or malbro,
no one can help you then

I believe the point of this Thread is damage And Thf/War outdamages Thf/nin I do have both. My Dancing Edge Seems to hit harder witht thf/war... But I believe a level 70+ Thief/nin duel Wield Gully +1 may beat thf/war...

sudo, if you had a thf/war in your group, and he died on the way back from yhoator, he's an idiot.

as thf/war, I was able not only to get back just fine every time, but to clear a path for my party members so that they could get back.

Just used perfect dodge when i was about half life, aggro'd every gob on the way, then flee'd to zone when my dodge wore off.

If you die as a thf after lvl 25, you're just not using your head. Hell, you can always use p.dodge and log out if you're in that bad of trouble.

tonko is a moot point. because you just don't need it.
(in very very very rare cases is it even useful)

Agreed thf/war will undoubtedly deal more dmg than thf/nin in SATA+ dancing edge.

For those with greed scimitar, yeah i find it suck too cos the delay add up is too long compare to wielding another dagger. Use it when someone in the pt can afford to cast haste^^

I hear the lvl 15 ninjitsu Elemental debuffs will help with skillchains. Ive yet to use them much though. I enjoy dual wield and the tp is so fast. Tonko is handy at times. My evasion is capped so i eally dont get hurt alot on pulls. thx to my pld. I cant wait for viper bite ^^ so close >< Also if u like to live dont lvl in the newb areas with thf/war or they will expect you to provoke like a normal tank. Thats just from my experience.

everyone keeps saying about how dual weild makes tp gain faster.

from my experience, this is ONLY true if you use two daggers.

because with a dagger in main hand and a sword in off hand, i get 5 tp from dagger and 5 from sword. (total 10)
and with sword in main hand, i get 6 from sword and 4 from dagger. (total 10)
and with two daggers, i get 5 tp from each. (total 10, but with much less delay)

which means dual weild is actually subtracting 1 tp with every two swings when using 1 sword and 1 dagger.

(i haven't tried it past 50thf/25nin. my nin is still 24)

                            anyone else experienced this?
what happens (as far as tp gain) when dual weilding sword and dagger when you get dual weild 2?

I think who gains TP faster between THF/NIN and THF/WAR depends heavily on what level you're talking. A THF/NIN at 20 gets to wield two weapons with a slight delay reduction between their added delays - obviously the THF/NIN is going to have some minute average edge over the THF/WAR, since he's getting more swings in. But at 30, THF/WAR picks up berserk - less hits for 0 on IT mobs, so that's a marginal improvement. At 50, THF/NIN gets DW2, THF/WAR gets double attack which seems to go off once every six or seven swings.

The /NIN probably wins out in the end, just because the DW2 delay reduction is consistent. But honestly, I think it's situational, with /WAR edging ahead on IT/+def, /NIN otherwise.
