    Re: How is this possible?

Well, I was referring more to going around 60ish. In a party. And I could be wrong, but I don't think Fenrir is soloable.

Fenrir is not soloable. He hits faster than any blinktank can throw up shadows (not even RDM/NIN, not a full haste build NIN, nada) without Slow and Elegy to slow him down, and his special attacks can hit for over 900 damage, sometimes more.

That's what I thought. My LS is just now getting Fenrir for our level 75 players, and even they are going in teams of six, so I know that it can't be the easiest of fights.

True dat. Some of my LS folk are just now moving through that part of the CoP Missions. It'll probably be a while before they get the summon.

Fenrir is easy. Get some mercenary SMN's and pay them to do it for you. You need 3 for a win, 4 guaranteed and you can split the cost with another person. 4 smn or 5 smn is guaranteed win with no hassle of death or loss.

Diabolos you need to finish PM 3-5, and you need a level 75 rdm/drk for chainspell + stun to stop nightmare. Stack 4 BLM in that group, and you as a freeloader and you can win with manaburn. You don't need a tank if your rdm/drk does his/her job right. Hate bounces around but stun will keep Diabolos locked.

I went in as THF I put up shadows and fought with Fenrir until the 4 BLM I went with got off AM. Then the RDM/DRK 2hr and spam Stun until the BLM's finish Nuke'n Him. Took about 45 secs. Real easy. Take a 74 rdm and 3-4 Blm with Thundaga III and your set.

You can still get the mini fork, but you have to speak to the tarus' melee companions as a level 15 or higher summoner.

                          Re: How is this possible?

I'm pretty obvious that whoever said that meant that the first prime fights is to be able to summon the avatars, the second prime fights is to save the whispers for fenrir fight.

                            Re: How is this possible?

You don't need to fight the primes twice to get Fenrir if A) you've done the mini-fork battles or B) you don't want the "standard" avatars like Shiva, Garuda, etc.

You need to fight each prime avatar once WITHOUT, repeat, WITHOUT going back to the original quest giver to pick up a reward. Once you have fought all 6, you speak to Leepe Hoppe in Windurst to turn in all 6 "whispers" to get a moon bauble and be allowed to fight Fenrir. You only need to do this once. After you have beaten Fenrir, from that point forward you just talk to Leepe and get your moon bauble, which you can do once every 24 hours just like the other avatars. Whispers only need to be collected the first time.

Someone who doesn't want the standard avatars, such as a melee who is 100% certain they will never, ever need or want to raise SMN but still wants to fight Fenrir to obtain, say, the stone or something, only needs to fight the primes once to get the whispers. Someone who has obtained the avatars through the minifork battles only needs to fight the primes once to get the whispers.

However, if you're really serious about SMN and planning to take it to 75, you WILL need to fight all the primes at least twice, even if you've done the mini fork battles. This is because the Evoker's Ring, an absolute must-have piece of equipment for a level 71 SMN, is obtained through turning in your reward at each prime avatar battle, including Fenrir, for the "junk" item in the reward list and handing those to an NPC in Norg.
