NM Tonberry: Carbuncle Gloves

Sorry to bump this up.

I've got the offering and I can get a party together just not sure where to go for the ???.


If someone could tell me which map from the following and rough coordinate "me love you long time".

Hmm, that link you put up keeps crashing my browser, oh well.

So where you need to go is J-10 on Map 3. This is the map where the kitchen, coffers, and the Manipulator are. To get to J-10, you have to defeat the door gaurdian first to open the door. This leads to a big room where an NM doll is roaming around. Straight ahead of you is a big staircase, and there is a path to the north leading you to the Den of Rancor entrance.

Your target is the staircase, and once you make it up there you'll come to a Prelate Key Door. Now if you have a Prelate Key (which drops off Tonberry Stabbers and supposidly Choppers), you'll have an easy time with this part. If your like me and you want a challenge (too lazy to get the key), then you can target a tonberry inside the door, and once a suitable candidate is found, cast dia on it, and have it open the door for you. Once open, book it inside, and fight off the 3 or 4 tonberry's that decide to link.

Once inside, you will be on Map#4. From here you have to travel all the way north, and up a few flights of stairs till you get to a relatively big room in which about 5 tonberries are roaming around. In the middle of this room is a ??? spot. Once you clear the room and get full TP, trade the offering to the ???, and your Carbie Mitt NM will appear. He will start the battle off with Carb's 2h, Searing light, so be ready. Having Light Carol cast before hand helps a lot. And be sure to keep the carol on, because the NM casts searing light 2 or 3 times after that.

And that's pretty much it, good luck, hope your guy drops Light Spirit while your at it

Beat it with 66 pld, 70 drk, 67 thf, 72 whm ( me ), 70 whm and 66 brd.


It did searing light five times and killed the thief.

can someone pls give me a more detailed description of where to find the offering? i was in the temple for 3 hrs today and couldn't find it...i found the 2 rooms at (I-9) but i am unsure of the location of the other 4...are they on the same map as all the coffer spawns? and if so could someone pls provide the coords? i checked almost every room with no results...but it may have just been taken as there were several ppl in the zone...any help would be much appreciated...thx in advance...

2 rooms in I-9 and 4 rooms in K-8. It is quite dangerous in this area. I would focus on 4 rooms at K8. 4 rooms are good since close to Rancor Den zoning point in L-9.

My strategy as RDM was put on enhancing open 2 doors, zone...repeat. Good luck.

it spawns in the two rooms before the bronze marberry room and the rooms behind it.

My advice is stoneskin/blink and run like fook through the rooms. at the end of the corridoor turn right and you'll zone out to the den of rancor.

Once thats done you can go and check the rooms one by one.

You can/could do this with 2-3 while doing windurst 7-2 or ZM4 also.

alright, thanks for the replies... my strategy, (which has worked so far) is to enter a room with my pld friend, check it, have him voke/flash whatever aggros, then escape and repeat...maybe i can find it today...

sorry, one more question... :sweat: ...does this zone to the den of rancor require the paintbrush and/or stopping to open a door? i don't want to train 50 tonberries to a zone i have no access to at the moment... :dead:

the bronze marberry room has a door on each side, past them your clear to the zoneline.

your paladin friend may wish to use invincible ^__^

weee! got my offering today... ^^ we trained about 30 tonberries to zone but invincible was not needed...i targeted the ??? through a wall during the train and picked it up on the way lol...thanks for the help guys...going to fight the NM tomorrow...
