There's a lot of problems with taking level 30-40's along with you. Getting them to the cloister is a pain in the ass, if you get aggroed at all you're basically one shotted. You're also taking a valuable spot up in the party. There's no way a level 30 could be the main healer, or even add any help at all really. The only party that could afford to take a level 30 would be a full 75 party, and you dont see that too often going to avatar fights. You'd have to be extremely lucky to get one.

Last night my party of 59-62 fought garuda and kicked its ass, if we had a 30 with us we would've gotten demolished.

My friend is closing 60 (57 now... his first goal of gaining raise2 is now done). In my LS we have 74pld, 60rdm, 58brd, and probably my friend 60 whm. Just need 2 more damage dealers and we are set. Meh... maybe I work for blm to 60 or something...

Sorry, but 5 level 65s and a lvl 1 warrior could easily beat any of the primes (minus Fenrir). To say that 5 lvl 75s is needed to beat a prime with a low level 6th member is very much overkill. Especially considering some jobs can solo/duo them in their low 70s.

The reason most people don't want to bring a level 30 along is because the roads to the cloisters are pretty bad in some cases and don't want to be burdened by a low level group member that can aggro basically everything in the zone. That and they don't like inviting random low level players to join their avatar pt.:p

Beat Gramps in 2min 14s. Party lineup:

            72blm - Melee'ed, used 0mp (was saving it for warp 2 haha)
75mnk - Did all the damage
75pld - Spent 200mp vainly trying to grab hate with flash and what not
            70rdm - 400mp of cures/nukes.
            68rdm - 300mp of cures/nukes.

What is my point? Well ... a 75mnk (or other damage dealer), a ~70 healer and 4 lvl 1's could probably defeat all the avatars pretty easily, no need for '5 lvl 75's.'

I think the real reason why nobody takes lvl 30's on avatar hunts (generally) is because of an elitist 'my avatars are a trophy, and a reward for my lvl 60 achievement, and I see no reason why I should give you the easy path to what took me so much time and effort to achieve.'

Which may or may not be a bad thing, depending on whether you're the 60+ or the 30. I sure as hell wouldn't take anybody under lvl 55 on a prime fight.

I really don't think it's an elitist thing. Mostly, I join Japanese shouts and these are 6 people with 60+ for Mages and 65+ for melees. I'm sure that PT leader weeds out anything below to finish battles effeciently and as a courtesy to other players.

Having said that, if I was going to fight one with less than 6 and a low level is waiting at the protocrystal, I see no reason not to take the person.

zinra, no, its worthless to invite a lvl 30 blm into a level 60 group and w/o avatars thats just what you'll be

I think making gil is much harder than getting to level 60.
