  • Sushi vs. Mithkas

So one gives, what I've found, +14 Acc (Sushi). The other gives +22% Attack (Rounded up). Which is better for a Sam where Acc is so important? Or is it a situational situation? At level 42 I have +26 Attack (Kote and Beetle +1s) and +14 Acc (straight up with Snipers and Jujitsu). So which is more important to me? The Attack or the Acc? Thoughts from the High levels? And would this change over time?

In different level brackets - more so towards lower ends, i don't feel it's possible to get enough ACC. However, once you begin leveling around 73 +, most mobs are no longer incredibly tough and are fairly easy to hit (aside from HNMs) and you can focus more on attack up gear instead of ACC. That may help your choice. Basically, if you're hitting fine, keeping up with the PT as far as gaining TP goes, then go for the attack food. If not? Then well, go for ACC bonus.

A SAM needs to hits the monster. ACC is very important for jobs with a 2 handed weapon. U should focus on ACC alot but not too much. STR comes second also with DEX. To do damage u need to hit the mob.

Not a samurai, but I'd say kabobs are a better choice. +14 acc is nice and all, but kabobs raise your attack so much at later levels (and you get the +5 str).

Go with kaboobs, you have enough acc to hit the mobs. The acc from the foods is really hard to see for me =/

I prefer the str and atk boost from kaboobs over the non-noticeable acc from foods. Matter of choice I guess though (:

What sushi are you referring to? Anyway, a lot of people like to compare tonosama rice balls to mithkabobs. The balls are only any good with your level 56 hand AF (myochin kote). At this point, the balls I believe give +45 attack and meat mithkabobs give +22% attack. The +22% attack for me was more of an increase than the +45 attack points. I guess if you like the little bit of extra defense the balls give, then they'd be for you. Also the double attack +1% they give is probably a little bit cool. Don't forget that the kabobs give STR+ too which the sushi does not.

i've got squid and sole +1 sushis and i gotta say, it owns any kabobs i've ever used. the ACC bonus and the STR bonus are invalauble to me as a tarutaru samurai, so i don't know whats mor important to you based on race, but i got a steady supply of sushi coming my way

Have you guys tried Navarian or Yellow Curry yet?

I hear Bison Steak's are really good for attack too.

                  lol kyo

yeah i'd be using bison steak if i was a sam.....or squid sushi for the +14 acc. and str.

no doubt about it the sushi's acc boost is definately noticable, maybe evn enough so that you can trade in one of those snippers..

sam, is just a toy around job for me when people need a specific lvl ranger, mins is only 18, i hardly ever play it, and buy and resale my gear/weps for it all the time.

...anyway i'd wear 1 snipper, 1 str ring, 1 swordbelt+1 and eat sushi, wearing my mithra rse boots for +3 str.

...or i'd wear life belt, two snippers and eat bison steak.

personally the people who can afford snippers, great congrats, but if you cant it is still possible to have a more effective character based on the food you eat, no snippers, fine gear yourself for str and attack, then eat accuracy foods, you better believe most of those snipper ring equiped melees are chompin down the kabobs like nobodies business.
Why be like someone famous when you can be like me.

                      sole sushi is awesome.

it's not a flat +14acc, it's percentage based. sole sushi also gives +5 str and dex.

the best example i've seen of this is from my friend who switched to monk and made it to toramas in onzozo.

with snipers, life belt, spectacles, harness, and spartans toramas still had high evasion. he popped a sole sushi, or sole sushi +1 and toramas checked low evasion with just a life belt or just his snipers. people parsed using sushi seem to have 90%+ accuracy consistently.

sushi is far better than kabobs, but unless you have a personal crafter, or they're ~16k per stack on your server, don't buy them. crafters on midgar sell for 35k per stack which amounts to a whopping 20k~ profit per stack.

Finally began leveling SAM again after getting equipment in order. Decided to try Sole Sushi since it's been awhile since i've had to melee and i was way pleased. Basically i see it as this now; if i have a BRD in my PT i'll use Bison Steak, if i don't have a BRD in my PT i'll use Sole Sushi. It was almost ridiculous how often i was hitting.

I never found myself in those awkward moments where i'm at like... 98% and the DRK is waiting on me to hit but i somehow manage to miss my next four hits and by the time i reach 100 % + the mob is nearly dead and a renkei would be worthless lol.

Ive used the Tuna a little and it was quite nice. Just a questoin though. Outside of your normal +acc is there a way to know how much acc you have total?
The word gen means 'illusion' or 'apparition.' In India, a man who uses conjury is called a genjutsushi ['a master of illusion technique']. Everything in this world is but a marionette show. Thus we use the word gen.
