Nice, just checking. Cause you can only skill that skill as NIN or SAM, and there's been a lot of people BSing their merits lately. That's awsome though to have goten the WS so early lol.

Too bad you can't actually start the Tachi: Kasha quest until 71. If you had increased GK by 4 points on NIN, and could start the quest earlier, you could technically have Kasha at 69. That'd be awesome. >.>;

Still, looking forward to getting Gekko which is just around the corner. Can't wait to end fragmentation, and to look sexy using it on a mithra :3

PS: If anyone hasn't noticed or doesn't know, you can only use a certain weapon skill (with merit points) when you change gear. What I mean is, when your skill on the status reaches 200, but your natural skill is 196 (like it was for me), yukikaze won't show on the weaponskill menu until you change any of your equipment. Anyone know why this is? Seems like you're cheating the system, so to speak.

Ive been thinknig of going SAM after seeing sme of the damage they can pull off. Not only that but ive loved the job to 16, though not very high, and id love to keep going with it. Having THF available as sub way past 75 and having WAR available as well it just seems like a good choice as far as a second job goes. I want to load up on STR gear, SA, then Gekko the mob for a nice stack of damage simply because i can :p

On another note, what lvl were you doing that Ashtyr cause im lvling on those at 63-64 and if you're 68 you're too high to get decent exp off those no?

Either Samurai/Warrior or Samurai/Ranger.

Say that after your level 60+ and the party wants to know why they cant use you to pull sata.

but /War is generally the best sub for sam.

Thats cool but as a Ninja wouldn't you not be able to use Tachi: Yukikaze and Gekko seeing as they are Sam SP WS?

Ninja can use Great Katana as well, just that samurai's skill level is higher at GK. But GK is'nt really an efficient main weapon for Ninja.

thats only a few Great Katana's most are Samurai equip only. ><

OK. I'll just keep doing 1000+ damage per weapon skill while you waste gil on /RNG and still be less powerful than RNG mains and be the SATA partner and get overshadowed by DRKs when you go /WAR.

I would suggest sam/war til 59 and sam/thf 60+, unless you're like that guy who did the merit point thingamagigger and get yukikaze at 59. I pted with a sam who closed our sc's for about 550-670 damage with yukikaze. And no offense to her but she was in full AF, and had dex+3 rings, which isnt terrible but, I mean I cant imagine a sam with haubergeon and victory rings for sc's doing a yukikaze, so I deffinitely think /thf is best 60+, and even before seeing Ashtyr's pic I heard that sata gekko can easily do 1k+ so I would deffinitely say it's worth it

he means the weapon skills are sam main job only.
and razz used merit points on his nin and can do the ws early as sam, not use the ws as nin.

Correction, SA + Gekko can do 1k+ damage, TA doesnt add damage when it is subbed. Unless they change the lvl cap to 120 that will stay because Assassin is a lv 60 trait according to another THF in my LS. I couldnt tell you though because i was lv 61 when they added Assassin and had it automatically.

if i wasn't lazy i'd go get screens of me (sam/war) doing 200 dmg crit > gekko for 690 non critical (230tp) > 900 darkness.

also there is no "best" sub for samurai post level 60. if you're rich do /rng if you want a big number do /thf
if you want to kick ass do /war

/war to me is probably best for xp since you're not gimping your damage by anymeans

/rng i haven't even unlocked (i never go to windurst pretty sad ;
