    Slightly off topic, does anyone know where a good place would be to lvl bow at say 90~ish? Think I got to 93 or so yesterday.

    Also wanting to hear more input on the GKT swing/range attack alternating idea... if anyone pulls this off on a regular basis? Does it make your normal swing longer by using a range attack in between every one? Is it kind of like havin gthe delay of Dual Wield?

      e22, I don't know about good... but around 93-ish, that would be around fighting lvl 30 monsters. Maybe Yhoater mandragoras?

        Unfortunately no. i have tried but still did not pull the alternating attacks on a regular basis. Even though speed bow is faster, i personally still prefer my Battle bow +1 along with Scorpion Arrows. the 2 combo + beetles rings (still cant afford a pair of snipers yet) give u very good range acc. So u hardly miss. (better still, get yr brd to give u hunter prelude ^^). Each hit easily gives u 120-160 dps.

        For training at lv 90s archery, u can give West/east Alps. desert a shot. My advice is u shld max yr archery everytime u grind exp. It is faster and less painful.

          Gian, have you tried spamming ranged yet? I'm curious to see if you will get GKT attacks in between them. (Might be a good way to die O_O in an xp party) Like I said before, when I spammed ranged attacks without regard to timing, I would often get an extra melee attack in (with a kind of rushed, half-ass animation) so I was going turbo speed! It was kind of cool to see myself doing all those things at once.

            Quick question, for all the high level Ranger subs out there:

            Why does it seem none of you use a Beater's Earring with 1 Drone Earring, as opposed to 2 Drones?

            The Beater's is part of the new Lvl. 30 Latent earrings that are activated via the correct corresponding subjob.

            Would an extra +3 Range Accuracy not be more beneficial than an extra +3 Agility?

              i always spam RA at the 2nd half of the battle or when i already have 100% TP to standby to chain off one of my 2 renkei partners. And yes, spamming RA is a good way to die, lol, my rdm complains that he have to cure me more than he cure the pal :sweat:

              In rgds to spammin archery, the half animation thing does happen to me...but really frustrates me as i cant put it to a regular, controlled process though . I have also tried Speed bow with longer dly GKT. It is worse... the half animation dbl attk doesnt happen as regularly as War bow. :confused: sigh..

                Because latent affect equipment suck. It's better to have equiment that's on all the time rather than only being on when a specific condition is set. I know that yellow hp is required for lvl 50 latent rings, but I haven't read/heard what's required for lvl 30 latent earrings.

                  lvl 30 latent ones are subjob specific..... like the +30 mp earrings are if u sub smn....... those earrings sky rocketed from 30k to about 300-500k....... war sub is the +2 vit one....... +accy come from subbing bst and theres more out there...... im pretty sure someone posted what sub u need for what earring on the forum somewhere :spin: :spin: :spin:

                    I believe the subbing Ranger one gives you +Range ACC so if thats the case then yes they would be better for Sam/Rng then Drone Earrings.

                      Latent effect is worthless if you are not the tank. the effect just works when your hp bar went to orange.

                          Normal Latent Effects yea are not good for us since we can't tank (or shouldn't). The earrings he was talking about (the ones on the above reply) are the new BCNM dropped ones that take effect when you have the appropriate Sub job on. There are belts that do this too. Thugh the /rng belt I think gives +5 to Marksmanship so thats not good for Sam/Rng (only class I can see it being good is for super rich NIN that go Nin/Rng with a gun hehe)

                            throwing actually does more from what i seen..... those high lvl ninja stars and stuff out dmg a rng gun....... course u'll almost never see a throw ninja heh
