Again tho, just like in the other post where "Square should be ashamed", there are a lot of specific details such as this that really need to be overlooked...
Take the Bilbo for instance. A rapier-type sword. Yet I don't see people with this sword in a proper fencing stance/attack manner.
Same goes with staves... How many martial arts are there where a person has a pole strapped to their back? I can really only think of the Ninja Turtles, heh... And when they swing it around, what style are they using? How come I don't see a Wing Chun low-horse stance? Or some other style like Wu-shu? What is this "beat the dog with a broom" technique?
and so on...
Yes, it could have been much more detailed and true to history if they flipped the image of the katana around. But if they wanted everything to be exactly perfectly sound, it might have taken them longer to develop and release the game as a whole due to all the researching of every single weapon/style/etc. I'm sure there are other reasons too.

Getting back to the thread, the Masamune looks bad as hell. Me want. Facing EITHER DIRECTION.
