Not even. You can talk to the tarutaru in Jeuno that casts brown magic on you and removes any food effect.

Easier way to get rid of food effects is to change to a level 1 job, and just die.

But as to taru rdm, yes they exist, they do quite well, and above all are the best looking rdms <.<

If you're fairly high level, there's also many flying, red-colored Brown Mages outside Al Zahbi who will be happy to remove your food effects (with a little prodding), if you don't feel like switching jobs and dying.

And yeah, RDM is way less about your race and way more about your ability, decision-making, and willingness to carry extra gear on you to cover all your bases

There's a certain npc you can talk to that removes you food effects. He claims to be a master of brown magic. :D

Speaking as a very very gimp Taru RDM... IT's not really about race, but if the person is constipated while playing, making good decisions or bad D:

The way I play, healing MP is much more important being a mage... so yes, managing mp and casting at crucial moments is much more important that what race you are. I however, static with a COR (I RABU you Cat!) so I'm horrible at managing my mp because I'm spoiled by Healer's Roll.
