This SCREAMS Red Mage. Oh, but look at the jobs that can equip it. "WHM/BLM/BRD/SMN". Um...WTF?! BRD can equip it but RDM can't!? That's stupid. Why does SE do shit like this?

I heard you have to /rdm tho so the shoes can enhance it. Or is that a different item....?

Different item. You're thinking of Warlock's Mantle.

By the by, Rostrum Pumps give 5% Fast Cast. They're nice, but RDM already can get close to the casting speed cap without these boots. I really don't see what the problem is; start worrying when other jobs get Refresh.

It look like the same as when the Baron and Trader's set was introduced: giving other jobs a taste of the RDM capabilities. Not sure what BRD would need Fast Cast for, though.

I'd like to see us get something that adds Curse to physical damage, like the Igquira and Genie sets. For some reason I think that is so cool, if not totally necessary.

We got this for a bunch of people in our LS, the brds notice that some songs finish casting at 75% now ^^

Not sure what BRD would need Fast Cast for, though.

Its a permanent "haste" to all spells. Cast them faster, and reduce the /recast by a second or two.

Don't know why it's taken as such a huge deal to some people, other jobs have much of their capabilities nearly taken away. Some jobs if they pick the right gear like those can just about compensate the difference that the job main would be around without any gear to get them above that.

RNGs abilities a WAR can very closely match if he uses the right gear. THFs abilities with SATA are coverable by other jobs once they get a powerful WS. Close enough that some players will debate a THF to be worth it compared to say DRK/THF for similar functions.

Really on just about any FF game when the characters reach high levels their distinguishing differences tend to blur some creating various degrees to blend magic and physical functions.

besides, most jobs can now almost match rdm for fast cast.

/35RDM = FC2 (All Jobs; less rdm)
Lvl 30 cape = FC+1 (All Jobs; less rdm)
Lvl 75 FC Earring = FC+1 (All jobs)

Pumps = FC+1 (whm/blm/brd)

RDM only get III traits, and 2 JSE gear boosts.
I've heard rumors that there is a FC IV at 75, but i haven't seen anything to prove (or disprove) that yet.

i'm using "raw" numbers to generalize. I know that fast cast is a percentage based trait, and not everything is equal. the numbers described above are simply for comparison.

/RDM is very useful for BRDs with the right gear- because having songs finish earlier in addition to having a better recast on many other songs (magic Finale >.>) means that BRDs are even more usefu-

Fast Cast is over powered solo-wise. I'm glad they're giving it to Whms and Brds through equipment.

Yeah, I have a 21second recast on Utsu:Ichi with Haste and Fast Cast, uhm, 5 i think. Whatever I have at lvl 68 w/AF Hat. I can't wait till AF2 Body. *sighs*

Christ, 3 whole seconds. Ninja's kill for that type of. . . shyte. Well, if other jobs want fast cast, more power to them. However, they'll hurt themselves making macros for it. I have no doubt I could put my FC gear into a macro, I've been macroing for 68 levels.

Of Course, if they wanted Fast Cast on their spells, they lose out on stats, heh heh. So tough noogies. Just like Galka BLMs who, bless their hearts, can afford all the MP gear necessary, but lose out on important stats, like INT and Elemental Magic.

Just like being a Taru RDM meant that all I needed to focus on was +hMP and MND. . . So all the Fast Cast gear, just means that they'll cast things faster, but wouldnt make much of a difference if they simply were casting faster spells that got resisted twice as much.

Granted, INT for BLMs becomes less important towards higher end nukes, and MND for WHMs is pointless outside of enfeebling (healing spells are more dependant on Healing Magic anyway), but BRDs, who would be the only job I see utilizing Fast Cast, would miss out on important gear in slots that they need CHR in.

I really would appreciate a BRD who had consistent and quicker recast, but in exchange for even merely two pieces of gear that enable them to do so, for a 75% casting time, it's not worth it to lose the stats.

yay well kinda related, I finally passed dynamis sandoria and will be able to go dynamis beaucedine with my LS next week now. Been waiting for 4 months to past this one place.

my LS does dynamis like this... bas beauce xaca, san beauce xaca, win beauce xaca, jeuno beauce xaca, repeat. They only go once a week and whenever they do sandoria they do it when I can't go >.< Yay wait for me AF2 body.
