Some story about it... my friend suddenly spoke up in the LS that the NM died right at this time, last night. So I tried my luck. Asked a couple friends and ended up with Ninx2, Rdmx2, Brd and Blm PT.

Once we got there, the NM already popped unclaimed. WOW. There was 2 other group of ppl there. A lone NA Rdm/nin, a duo BRD+DRK.

The Rdm/nin kept saying {let's hunt together} {free} {lot} {please}{please}{please}
of course no one respond He then tried to MPK us by pulling the NM on top of us and item warp back. The NM didn't aggro anyone tho.... maybe it's not aggressive?

The JP bard talked to us saying he *made* it pop for over 6 hours. And that he should have the right to claim it.
I wanted the sword so much but didn't want to be rude so...
not sure what to do, we just hang around there trying to make decision.
After 10-15 minutes the JP BRD asked if we could form alliance and both of us can lot.
With the ppl they have they won't really be of much help but I guess that's the best way out for both of us.

The fight was a cake.

For what it's worth, I personally think anyone who goes to the trouble of popping a NM without the firepower on hand to kill it needs to get their head checked. It was nice of you to let them assist, but I'm not sure I'd agree that simply popping an NM gives you any sort of squatters rights on the drops if you can't kill it yourself.

Agree. Actually, if you look at it from the other person's point of view, and the sheer annoyance of popping this NM, I can see why they would be ticked if they had camped for 6 hours, and another group shows up to claim it... however, they should have the firepower there to kill it, or not bother.

Also, congrats Jei. Welcome to a whole new world of RDM greatness.

I have a few question. The double attack proc, is there a stat I can boost to help increase the proc rate? My feeling says AGI but that's just a feeling

About the BRD, because he is JP we were a bit afraid he might spread our name out in a bad way among the JP boads. That's another reason we were holding back too.

My LS also gave me similar advice that I should just pull it on my own. But for different reason. They said even JPs steal their mobs such as aquarius o_O;; They even had gilsellers MPKing them when trying to get joyeuse once.

Grats Jei! That was one tight situation.. the sword should still be yours in the first place because it was your team that was ready to kill it. Any solo RDM can sit there for hours popping it, but will never get the sword unless they work to find a good team together.

A PLD buddy of mine and I recently got the Joyeuse also and it rocks everything else. A tip for those who haven't gotten Joyeuse yet- I wanted to test out the respawn time out so I camped it on the 8th hour after I found out the ToD. After killing the 2 Devil Mantas, Chary popped. Unfortunately, everyone was sleeping in my LS, so I informed other people I knew who wanted the sword.

A couple days later, the PLD buddy and I went to play around in SSG.. killed one set of Devil Mantas and Chary popped! This time, we call our awesome LS to help and the PLD won the lot. However, we agreed that 8 hours later, we would help on the next spawn. So, I go to sleep, set my alarm and wake up 8 hours later.. to spawn him after 2 rounds of Devil Mantas after the 8 hour mark.

I have also heard that people have camped him 12 hours after the ToD, but these are my 3 experiences with Chary's respawn. I wrote the exact times that he died, and his spawns were a little over the 8 hour mark due to the 16 minute respawn time for mantas. Hope this helps other RDMs.

50% Proc rate, as far as I know. Sometimes it goes on runs where it won't Double attack for 6-7 hits, sometimes it double attacks 6-7 times in a row.. I know that I got 200+TP off fo nothing but double attacks in quicksands once.. Pretty sure it's proc rate parses out to around 50% though.
