Hurricane Wyvern, soloable?

Trying to figure out if there is a way to fight him... His dispelling wind could be annoying. Has anyone tried this?

Um. You might have a change with sleep nuking... other than that, his chomp rush, radiant breath, and dispelling wind will all own you.

haha, that's what I thought too. Gravity->Bind->Nuke->Sleep, rinse and repeat..... I have to test out how easy is it to sleep them tho. But consider that place has bomb all over the place, it might be quite a challenge.

I wouldnt spam gravity on it. I'm fairly sure that a mob's resistance to gravity increases with each use during a battle. So casting it repeatedly will just make it start to wear off quicker, which could get you killed if you need to run from it or kite it for a bit.

Am I the only one thinking this guy (or probably, boy) likes to just pretend he's an awesome high level RDM? No, real, honest, high level would just ask can I do this and then someone else says simply "Yes" and then they go try it and risk so much XP. Youre looking at about 4k XP loss, and any true player (which you are not, Habaut) would also know, you aint getting Rb3 in Ifrits Cauldron, let alone Rb1.

A LV.75 whm who is a "real player" asked if he could solo hurricane wyverns in LS and someone told him yes, and he went out to do it. It a uhh, didn't work out.

p.s. exp loss is capped at 2400.

Exp loss is capped at 2400, so no, he's not looking at 4k XP loss. People have not simply said "yes", they have suggested the sleep/nuke strategy. Rb3 and Rb1? Are you talking about Raise? Because most people say R1 and R3....

I'm guessing Raise 1 or Raise 3, judging by the context of the sentence, but I've never heard it called that before either. In fact i can't think of any good reason to add the "b" in there... :angel:

There are items that take care of this. No offense, but to rip up someone the way you have, but totally leave out the fact that he could use a scroll of instant raise, reraiser, hi-reraiser, leads me to believe you still have much yet to learn about the game.

He just wanted to confirm he could sleep the wyvern so he knew the gravity/bind/sleep/nuke trick would work. If I told him to try that on sea horror, he would find out very quick that it cant be slept. It's nice to know these things in advance.

All that being said, I cant imagine why someone would want to solo a Hurricane Wyvern (of all things) unless hes trying to solo the Opo-opo crown quest.

well.. i would really like to know if it really can be done.. since i'll be a lot easier to find a nice high lvl skilled rdm.. and sneak/invis in Ifrit Cauldron.. then to set up a PT to kill that wyvern for the skull~
