Hurricane Wyvern, soloable?

Hi Sepukku,

I'm sorry if the way I post make you feel that way. In no way, I'm trying to brag or anything.

However, I do considered I'm a good RDM, but not exceptional, like Grendal (aka Applekids). I was doing risk analysis. As you probably knows, RDM has the advantage of being able to execute different way of killing mobs. And Hurricance Wyvern's Dispelling Wind concern me the most, as I bellive I could get petrified too. So soloing as RDM/NIN and the melee route is probably not going to work. That leave me with one other way of going as RDM/BLM and try to do Bind/Gravity/Nuke/Sleep strategy but it kinda required the mob be sleepable. If you can sleep him, you can kill him. If even that doesn't work, not me, but maybe a RDM/BST (>.< requiring lvling of BST), would also be a good alternative.

4k xp is really nothing when you get to high level. It is about 1 hr of regular xp party and maybe a little less than 30 mins with RNG party. I've died 4x in a Dynamis before and had to take some Raise because I didn't bring Reraise Gorget (Reraise II). I didn't even bother calculating the xp hit. I need to xp sometimes to give myself a buffer to die more. I have always take on the attitude of enjoying the challenge. Yes, I can probably find enough ppl to help, but it would meant more if I do it myself. Btw, I didn't mention that this skull is for a special friend of mine. We enjoyed the process of obtaining items thru hard works.

Anyway, I'll give it a try, hopefully soon and post the results.

PS. Thank to all that defends me. I'm sure you guys would agree playing RDM is very fun and enjoy the challenges.

I think it's very hard to solo wyverns because of their Dread Shriek (AoE Paralysis), Radiant Breath (A lot of damage + Silence) and Dispel Wind but we may be able to with Echo Drops and Remedies.

I'm not sure where I can safely solo them but I feel like doing this, too.

Hab and I have been working together on Opo-Opo Crown items. Being WHM and inferior to my fellow WHM on Gilgamesh ie. Serix and Mirukuu... soloing for Miss Sayre isn't a good idea, but I do however love duoing with Habaut.

I think you should be excited that there are folks out there willing to test their limits in game. I hope he does give this a shot I'll be there skulking around in the background with Fraps running haha :p <SMILE~! you never know when the camera is running>I don't mind losing exp as long as its a new/fun experience.

Hexspinner wasn't a terrible challenge for him I'd like to see him give those wyvern a try or two. Apple want to come too? ^^

I killed three of them with my swords today afternoon. I was lucky because I was never hit by Dread Shriek. I spent 60K for a stack of Remedies but I can sell them back

The one on the movie gave me 160 XP and I guess it was LV77 (Those wyverns are LV75 - 78). Sleep landed on them without any difficulty and according to the mob's weakness chart, they are weak on dark attribute. Therefore, I'm sure you'll make it, Habaut.

By the way, where I dueled with them was safe. No need to worry about Bombs while fighting. However, it was hard to pull only wyverns. You may want to bring a bow and arrows.

XD Thankyou very much for the off topic comment. I spent a good while with Model Viewer and Photoshop with that. And those are the 5 Main jobs I would like to level eventually.

I have 1 question though, why did you use Savage Blade when you had 300TP? Wouldn't Spirits Within have been better?

Because I only had 928 HP with NIN sub, Spirits Within does 435 points of damage with 300TP. Savage Blade, on the other hand, did 525 points of damage on one of them and I felt it was better than SW.

Well, it only did 293 points of damage in the movie but it was because third hit from my sub weapon didn't land (= I only got 6TP as a result).

Grrrr.... Sorry Habaut. To be honest, I didn't mean to take your excitement away I think I shouldn't have posted it till your report is up.

Hmm... How about soloing that NM, I mean "Vouivre" that drops Gae Bolg, there? It already spawned when I was soloing Hurricane Wyverns. I'm not sure that can be done because it is much stronger than Hurricanes.
