I never felt as bad about gimp as i did when I was in a pt last night with a WHM22/BLM3 Hume Male. I mean..... I just was sad inside. Its relatively easy to raise anything to 5, i mean, the slow period for White and Black Mages is 5-10, but 3?

Come on, thats just sad. I really had to drop the invite and go level my subs to 15. I never want to look as horrible as that EVER. Now I feel bad about my 20/9 days....

Any similar experiences? And please, if you've been with someone who was +30Main -10Sub, please warn...

- -;;; oh geez, thanx for the input. In any case, it is. No real excuse. My parties are so ass, i usually get only one whilest in Qufim. So my subs being at 10 only lasted me one level. Sorry, I played through Valk, and I saw what it was like being a BLM in an ass party, or being a Warrior with an ass healer, or being a White Mage in a party that cant hold hate. Needless to say, while its inevitable, i'm not to eager to go back...

Do BLM get anything notable at or before 11? Iirc, but my memory is bad, Drain comes at 12. You'll be losing--what--2INT and 7MP? Or thereabouts?

Not that big a deal IMO. Now, when certain SPELLS become available, then yes, it is bad. But calling someone gimp solely because of stats.... eh.... if they know how to do their job right, that's 100% better, I believe.

thanks for looking out Las. Indeed, i do know better, but whatever i just leave the game doing is what i put on FFXIonline. And all i've been doing is farming :sweat: (Why is Red Lotus Blade so much friggin better than that punk ass Burning Blade :mad: )

Oh, btw, the only thing that BLM get at 10 is the same thing RDM get at 20, and needless to say, those dont stack. But yeah, Drain would be nice. I guess I can always train that while i solo worms or others. Hmm, looking back, maybe i should have balanced the Dia/Bio action? :sweat:

Part of the reason your parties are ass is b/c of your sj. I'm not here to jump on you or yell at you for it, so please hear me out.

Say I'm looking to put together a party and I need a red mage. The first one I'm going to take is the one with a mage sj, fully leveled. He'll have a bit more MP and a bit better stats. Next is the one with a mage sj, even if its under. (I usually don't even do that unless I'm desperate.) I'll wait until someone else logs in or fill the slot with something else before I invite a rdm/war. Why? Experience has shown me that that's the best course of action. It may take longer, but I'll put together a good party. Having a mage sj fully leveled tells me you care about your job, plain and simple. I make pretty good parties and it's b/c of the "rules" I've learned to follow.

When you get an invite as a rdm/war, you're getting an invite from someone with less experience as a leader. You're getting someone who doesn't know any better. They're also more likely to get a tank with bad armor, a whm who spams high-level cures, a blm who over-nukes. They won't necessarily know how to lead to make things better, and they won't know who to invite (as they have proven by inviting you).

Here's a little sj story for you. Last week I went to the jungle with my 24 rng/12 nin. There was a guy there, a friend of a friend, playing taru 25whm/4blm. We didn't party b/c I have a static whm with my rng, but since we have friends in common we kinda chatted and such. After a couple nights of leveling, I was 31 rng/15 nin. He was 26whm/4blm. He had leveled to 26 and de-leveled to 25 5 times. He had gotten to 27, and de-leveled again. I kept telling him "you'll get better parties if you level your sj". Too bad he didn't listen. :spin:

He should update his main character info if he wants to avoid confusion. Setting his main character info as RDM/WAR just makes it seems like he is using that in xp party.

Regardless, i think someone who has an underleveled sub does not have the right to complain about someone else with an underleveled sub. It's like a kettle calling a pot blacker than itself :sweat:

I could lash out, but since you dont really know how I play, i'll let those comments slide. Since i learned from the Dunes, i have a SEARCH COMMENT (wow, ever try one of those?) that states that I have multiple subs to choose from

Very interesting. In any case, as i said, and as seen in my sig, I have proper subs for any occasion. I'm allowing the flaming now, since obviously, unlike Las, you have no clue who i am of how i play. But please, if you couldnt even glance at my sig and realize i had other jobs, then dont critisize.

I've been lucky enough where all i had to do was Enfeeble and slash, cause WHM and BLM arent scarce.

Heh, you're lucky. Everytime I get into VD as rdm, I'm roped into being main healer. So much so that I just end up going as rdm/whm.

Although ppl shouldn't criticize you for being 1 lvl behind (11 blm seriously doesn't offer much), you are being a hypocrite for complaining about someone else's underleveled sub when your own isn't up to level. True you are not as far behind as the person in your story, but you are still being a hypocrite.

Just a side note btw, i'm gonna retire RDM for a bit. I realize that unlike other jobs, RDM cant sub to ANYTHING, so getting it stronger doesnt offer me much down the line. What I'll do is raise WHM and BLM to at least 20, then not touch those for a bit.

/cry ah well. RDM and i had a good run, but i'll have to come back to it later.
