Actually I'm not sure about something and i've been meaning to ask this. As most of you know they are decreasing MP cost of Dia and Bio, but effect of Bio will not be determined by the caster's Dark Magic Skills.......
So here is the question. Should I go buy the Dark Magic Torque (I'm not sure if this is how you spell it) or should I just go and let the DRK or BLM cast Bio II?

guess not.
however, it cannot be resisted unless a mob is completely resistant to magic, so dark skill shouldn't really affect it, although it does affect it somehow currently. they're probably changing it from reduction in attack being dependant on dark skill to it being a standard reduction regardless of dark skill.There will be cake.

Thanks the lords for lowering MP on Dia 2.
Bio 2 I still cast, 59 MP still seems worth it since it does a fairly decent direct damage component of around 60dmg (at lv 39 anyway).
Dia 2 (from a solo point of view) on the other hand while i understand it reduces DEF significantly just doesn't seem worth the effort for the MP cost.
Though Dia 2 is a great spell in a party situation, it really should be lower MP cost to make it more viable.

HOW ABOUT MAKING USING A SWORD A WORTHY ENDEAVOR!!!
I'm was tired of hitting for crap damage, so around lvl 15, i just decided to chill in the back row and not add to the mob's TP.
Now, If we could get stuff like Vorpal w/o using a DRK or WAR sub... Or even an A- in Sword, I'd be eternally happy.The Tao of Ren

Kidding? At lv 15 you still do what can be called relativley decent dmg. Wait till almost 40, anything more than a decent challenge is pretty darn hard to hit for crap unless your sword skill is capped.
Even then the dmg is poor. RDM don't need to be better in sword, it would be pretty unbalancing I dare say.Hoppkins - Red Mage - Ragnarok

LOL. if you raise rdm's skill with a sword... holy unbalanced. although giving us vorpal would be cool. raising our sword lvl is not.
yeah, square should NOT do this.
however, i do wish we had access to more weapons... i really wish our club skill was higher too. oh well - we're vastly overpowered as is. :angel:

If that happens, rdms will be only people with convert/refresh for 40 lvls. God forbid at lvl 80 people can use convert. Who knows, you might get refresh 2 or something like that at lvl 80.

There is the quote. It says "...the EFFECT of these spells will now be dependent on the Dark magic skill..." not the accuraccy. If by accuracy are you meaning resist?
Akiro, If they did raise the level cap to 80 they would still not have Refresh, but only convert. So don't worry about that and by the time your 80 and can use convert they would max out the exp and start some other job, meaning you still have a place in this world. Also if they did do that I'm hoping SE would do something to compensate for it.
