need some rdm help

so my static is working on our lvl 58 AF. it has not been fun.

we spent 3 days in beadeaux for 2 keys. one dropped kind of early, the other took 2 days of intense playing. i went from 56-58 on this key.

we even had a high lvl thf (60) help for a while. the key dropped after he left.

now we're in davoi. we need like 3 keys. and we've been here 2 days no drop.

seriously, is this normal? i mean, our previous coffer keys were sooo easy. well, not that easy, but not this insane. and we still have my coffer key to get - which i heard is not fun.

thoughts? i mean, what should we do? please help. thanks in advance.

Might be the moon phase...some people think the moon has affect on those sort of drops. Try going on a full moon, might be better.

it might indeed be the moon phase. i haven't really checked while doing the keys, except once in eldieme...we got like 5 keys in about 2 hours. i type /clock and behold, its a full moon @ 100%. sometimes though, the key just likes to be a bitch...it took me 4 tries to get my davoi key. all i can say is keep trying...it has to drop eventually

how many theives or theif subs do u have? as long as the mobs aren't to hard uc ould have non essential ppl change to a lvl 15+ theif sub for th. maybe u as a rdm, since u have sneak/invis already, the whm too, basically anyoen but your tank (so he doens't loose voke) etc

I'll agree with the moon phase as well. All monster drops seem very reluctant to drop during New Moon, and seem much more likely to drop during Full Moon. I'm not certain how it affects it, but it has happened often enough for me to notice a trend, and seems to have a major effect on drop rates...

or another personal belife is the game hates you, your not paranoid if they're really out to get you (seriously tho, sometimes keys just suck, sometimes u get 3 in 10 min)

I go along with Bamce. The game hates you at some times. I spent eleven hours over a four day span camping the Castle Oztroja coffer for my Tabard, and today I log in, find one of my JP RDM friends in the area, ask him for help, and we find the coffer within ten minutes. o_o

On a more serious note however, yes I believe that Full Moon is best drops for keys Garlaige key party we got two keys in less than ten minutes, I kid you not.

i helped a friend get one recently. went there, found a coffer spawn point and just camped it...then i noticed like 5 or more invisible thieves running around, coffer hunting. my first thought was "crap". but then i sent a /tell to every single one of them, explaining the situation and how the coffer was for the AF. 4 thieves replied, saying they would let us have the coffer. 15 minutes later, i got a /tell with the position of the coffer and the thief there guarding it for us ^_^. guess it really helps to be able to speak japanese.

so i got it last night

funny how just when you start to complain, wouldn't you know it, everything starts dropping....

so not only that, but i also found the coffer after one run through the oz spawn points. good stuff.
