2 days in the nest and i still cant find a damn chest. :mad: :mad: :mad: but at least i can still solo lvl at the nest since everything is even/tough or VT to my BST to pass the time instead of just running in circles. ^^

Just a couple things, I'm pretty sure you have to open the chest as your RDM, in order to get the item. I might be wrong, since it's a quest item and not a regular coffer, but it would stink if you found it and got something else instead. :sweat:

Also, I'd recommend going chest-hunting at a really odd time if you can. I went at 8 AM eastern on a Saturday and the place was pretty much deserted. Sneak/invis and run around pressing tab. Had my chest in 20 minutes.

I found my chest in the area where the coffers spawn too (but not that deep in) if you get to area with labrynth Lizards, that's where I got my chest. Almost no one camps there for exp parties. Took me forever to find the chest.

But this is not bad... wait till you need to find coffers in Necropolis, Garlaige and Oztroja... :sweat:

It took me 3 days to find the chest in Crawlers but I found it last night as soon as I logged in. I opened the chest as my BST and burried the key items as my BST. I will probably go back to pick up the boot as my RDM just in case of anything wierd but yes you can definitely do the chest as another job. You can probably pick the chest if you were a high lvl thf. I havent been able to go back to the ??? to get the boot because I spent 3hrs installing COP and had to leave for work.

So i guess as long as you are actively on the quest, you will get the blood from the chest regardless of job.

A word of advice... dont open your coffers as another job... you shall regret it ^^

an AF miracle

After reading about all the difficulty people have with the Castle Oz coffer, I was dreading the day I'd have to go after it. Last night tho, I was demoralized due to lack of parties and half my ls leaving for Hades, and my friend (70 blm) insisted on taking me to find my coffer. I figured that with at least 2 thieves running around (there may have been more, but if so they were /anon) I didn't stand a chance. Less than an hour after leaving jeuno we found a coffer in the middle of the pond, surrounded by leeches. They aggrod me but the blm cast sleepga 2, I opened the chest, and we escaped out. I seem to recall my heart pounding like mad and I think I yelled "F*** yeah!" really loud. XD Now I have to level like mad so I can wear it. A happy red mage am I! I think there really is a lot of luck (or good karma, or both) involved with finding these things. Good luck to all who are still hunting. Don't give up. ^^
