oi... I got my key last night, and we had three other keys to get.

after an 8 hour key hunting session we got 4 keys. But sadly we got the first three keys in 4 hours >.<

Oh well, maybe tonight I'll find my coffer and beat the snot outta dark spark. LS member of mine can solo it lol.

Okay, spent like 2 hours getting members.
Spent another 1 hour getting to the Hume bones area inside EN.
On the way there 1 of the PLDs got aggroed and simply got raped.
We didn't even try and save him because he had already trained about 7 mobs so he just run away from us so we had time to escape. True honorable PLD. :p

We finally arrive and then start killing the placeholders.
The same PLD who had previously died was pulling with Cure so we wouldn't link anything.
Anyway, during a pull all of a sudden the PLD starts taking heavy damage. He wasn't too far so we thought he was okay... until his life went to red.
We all rushed in to help but sadly he died.
Then he d/c'd so we waited for him.
After about 3 minutes he comes back on and is shocked, it turns out his connection screwed up so he just stood frozen letting the mob hit him... very unfair. :/

After about 1hr of killing a coffer key finally drops.
Now 3 other people needed this key so chances of getting it were not high.
First person lots, 904... my heart freezes as I think it's allready over.
Second person 800+... then the next a low 500.
Before I even cast my lot people were already congratulating the person who lotted the 904 so I knew I had end up staying longer in EN looking for another key.
So anyway, I lot...948... the key was mine.. haha! :D
It was over in a flash and I was so happy.
I then remembered I hadn't even started the quest (duh... T_T) so I had to leave the Treasure Coffer that had spawned right next to us... -.-"

Oh well, hardest part is done.

This Edleimne Necropolis coffer key has been the single most frustrating thing in all my months in Vana'diel. After numerous failed trips, usually involving me and many of my friends dying, I've decided to give up and move on. Maybe once I get to lvl 58 or 60 then I'll go back and do this, but for now I'm looking forward to my Gallant Coronet at lvl 56.

We went on a key hunt with my LS for one of the lower members. and we picked up 2 more people so we needed 3 keys. They wanted to fight stupid Bones but i told them we can blow up Utuku or w/e. They didnt want to but I pulled them anyway. 3 keys in 15 minutes. Every Utuku dropped a key. We had TH2 and it was a full moon. We camped in the tunnel right when you pass the hume bones pile.

The problem is those would destroy a lower level group, had a few bones links from low HP and just stupid aggro becasue Sneak hates people and likes to wear when they drop into a hole full of Spriggans -.-

2 keys in half an hour. 1st key on the second kill.
            3rd key...3 hours. oi.

            I'll try utuku's next time.

Better check your keys again. Ut's only drop chest keys.......

Sorry, but it's a bit tougher than that.

My mistake it was probably Haunts then. But its the Ghost type mobs in that area.

Beadeaux coffer key turned out to be the worst for me.

Beadeaux Coffer was a breeze for myself and my static's white mage. We went there both for XP and drops as a lvl 57-58 party, and we got 2 drops in about 3-4 hours.

We didn't do the the "crossroads" with the mobs behind the door, but to the tunnel to the right (I believe) when you come in. And the difficulty of the Quadav's was a big downer too, we ripped right through them, even when we got a bad pull with a link or pop adds.

Most entertaining coffer hunt I ever had.

We even downed Ruby Quadav for someone's Genkai3 (rest of us didn't have it active yet), and somehow he was a lot easier than one of the other Quadav's we pulled out of Ruby's room first. Was a good day.

That's what I hear from many high-lvl Paladins I talk to. Is it the mobs themselves that make the key hunt difficlut, is it the drop rate, is it the spawn area, or an unholy combination of all three just to piss off Paladins?

From what I can see on a JP treasure hunting site the Beadeaux coffers seem to be centralized in a small area of the dungeon to the North East so I can't imagine getting to the coffers or the mobs would be that difficult. However, I suppose Castle Oztroja has a very small area for key dropping mobs and coffers but it's by no means difficult. Sigh, why does Squeanix hate us so...

                        We had a different camp area, the N-E corner of K-7 ( http://www.speakeasy.org/~sticks/ffx...adeaux_02.html ).

We breezed through the Quadav, they weren't half as tough as I expected them to be. Hell, Goblins in Cape Terrigan gave me a harder time at lvl 56.

We went there for XP and coffer keys (needed 2, 1 for me, 1 for the white mage), and got both drops in about 3-4 hours.

Pulling from the other spot, the one the Japanese site seems to refer about, gives you a pretty high risk of links, because there are multiple Quadav in a small room.

Im not one to brag but I got Eldieme on the first mob my pt killed.. And soon after my pt in Eldieme killed that one mob it broke up.. :spin:

But Beadeaux was completly different, from the Paladins I talked to about it they told me that it was either extremly easy and they got it within 40 minutes, or they say it toook multiple trips of nothing and finally they got it.. But ive never heard of anyone telling me that they got it anywhere in between that time.. I guess im one of the fortunate ones, I got my key pretty quickly.. but dont procrastinate, no matter how many times it takes.. Patience is the key at getting a key.. Oh and also finding generous high lvls..

In my opinion, for a Beadeaux key, you don't need high-level help at all. A balanced lvl 57-58 party should be able to dispose of the coffer mobs pretty easy.

Just some words of encouragement to all the disheartened key hunters out there. I finally got my eldieme key after 4 trips, being outlotted about 6 times, and a few k lost in xp

Then yesterday during the AH maintenance I grabbed a rdm friend of mine to flip the switches for me and I went coffer hunting. Finally got the key item and I am going to kill DS again. (I've helped twice already with the ls)

So keep it up. You'll get the drop eventually. The human bones camp is a great spot. And keep asking for help. At least on Fairy alot of the 'Higherups' have been skillup crazy. In one PT I had a high 60ish thf that just stood back and threw a boomerang. Fun times....
