  • Here is the best way to kill MAAT!!!!

All right guys this is so Simple!!

Here is what i used: and took me 5 min.37

    -All My AF
    -Espadon sword
    -General Shield
-Royal Neaclace Accu+4 Attk+4 (oopo poo neclkas)
    -Phalaanx Ring
    -Drone Erring
    -Beak Mantle
    -Life Belt Acc+10

    Medicine use only:
    - Vile Elixir
    - Vile Elixir +1
    - one yagudo Drink
    - pickaso milk something like that 4hp/3sec
    - fish meatkabob
    - just 2 sleeping potion to only get TP50 it's enough
    - Eye Drops for when Maat blind u,do it right away

I hade Hi-potions, Pro-ether, icarnus Wing. but didn't need to use them at all.

so here is the best way. first a Fought him in Darksday, think it's really important bcz paladin are light. maybe it's nothing but i jyst say it. because he never use any WS on me and the other time it was asura fistx8 ect....

here is what u do when ready, engage--> flash him--> Bash him when he prepare BanishIII. your TP should be 100 use vorpall balde, then keep fightitng , when your HP start to be 600 Cure4
much better then use hi-potion, bc u hit much more, then again it Low HP again then u should have another TP 100 another Vorpal
then he will use invisible. like u don't have many MP use vile elixire + the yagodo drink be ok. when invisible run away on circle till u can hit him again. don't forget use back or flash any time, then u still fighting him, and use Cure3 or 4 on u then when u are very low everywhere use vile Elixe+1 and u safe again i use another Vopral Blade and he was out. There was no WS for him to give to me. i could beat the record if i had use incarus Wing earlier.but well i won, that is what it'a all about.

nonononono. You dont need vial nor vial+1 complete waste of money.

Use Meat Mith or Chief instead of Fish. It will help you more.

All you need for this fight is:
      Decent Gear
      10-15 Hipotions (I used 7)
      3 Yagudo Drinks
      Prot4 and Shell3
Do not use invincible or he will just Banish3 and use Asuran fists after. Besides that, the key to winning this fight is to take a certain amount of Damage. Using invincible is not what you want to do.

That's all you need. No need to waste money on some of those expensive items. Just fight him normally and stay alive until he invinces. At that point spam Hipots until you're full. Then keep fighting til he gives up. Use Vorpal blade when TP is 100%.

Using invincible doesn't cause Maat to use Banish3 or Asuran, at least it didn't in my fight. And since when is the pld fight based on how much dmg you take? Every pld I ever spoke to about it won when they got Maat's hp low.

Well i never had to use invincible, i had no need to do so. i understand that u say hi-potion, 17 of them = 35k and my 2 vial cost me 35k so it wasn,'t a waste of money. and it's much better to do so to regen HP and MP at same time twice in a fight. icase u guys didn't notice longer is the fight more mad Maat will be. that's when he use asura Fist. i beat him in 5 min. 37 so he didn't have time to do so, that's why those vial are great i just them. i mean the vile+1 was really wasted bc was at then end of the fight. but better be safe then sorry again. so using hi-potion get u lose time to hit maat. so basictly no Hi-potion adn Eyes Drop madr me hit him more and more. that's about it and u need those 2 Accu+ armore i didn't miss one hit in the fight that help too. i know if ihad use the icarus Wing i could had beat him in like less then 5 min. and that's basicly almost impossib;e to do!!!! need to be lucky and skillfull

All jobs fight with Maat has 2 options in which you can win.

One is the general method in which you just get his HP to be low enough.

Another option is the "backdoor" option, which is not the same for every job.
Usually this "backdoor" method is associated with your job function.
Like for example WHM's "backdoor" is to heal a certain amount of HP.
Just so happen PLD's "backdoor" is to absorb a certain amount of damage.

I believe LionHart is using the "backdoor" method to win. But since I am not near level 70 yet, maybe I should just leave it to him to clarify.

I read about this in a forum some time ago. I can't find the link anymore. Since I have never undergone this trial, then I think you can just assume this is hearsay.

Well, Maat gave up for me with over 1/3 of his hit points left.

The only things that I have done in particular was a 900+ dmg Vorpal Blade and I did NOT let Maat land one single Banish III on me. I went through 9 hi-potions, 2 yagudo drinks, 1 icarus wing, 1 meat mithkabob. The battle lasted 5:69 for me.

Maat never did an Asuran Fist; I never used Invincible.

If by taking enough dmg to win, I'd have won the first time. I faught him till timed out. Maat had less than 30% health.

If you lose you have to go get another pld testimony and try again.

Until you beat him you can't get past lvl 70.

                        That's all I know.

The 'backdoor' method to Maat for PLD is supposedly:
                          Get Maat to use Invincible
                          Sentinel
                          Cure4
                          Cure4
                          Cure4
                          Cure4
wait 15 seconds, he gives up.

I tried this method, however I am not sure if Maat gave up from low hp or this as when he gave up it looked like he had around 20ish% hp (the amount people claim he gives up at).

Before TP gained was nerfed, there was a good chance 3 Vorpal blades could take him out, usually 4. I started the fight with 50% tp from opo opo, got 100. After the 1st vorpal, I had about 25% back, waited till 100, did another, then used Icarus Wing. At this point he had about 10% left, finished it off with Swift, done.

My friend Diamanti took him out first try without using sleeping potions / opo-opo necklace. I forget how many hi-pots he used, but it was around 10 or so, and a few eye drops (the ones that cure blindness). Then again...he had a joyeuse

He also set the record lol
