When I made my statement about not relying on others to help you keep hate I was refering to the thief being there to trick off you. I understand completely that it is everyone responsibility to be in control of their own hate levels during the fight, but you cannot base your job around the hate transfering abilities of the thiefs trick attack.

Everyone is always posting strategys on how to keep hate with odd subjubs like WHM or NIN, but everyone is forgetting 1 thing, labour.
think about it, if you had to spend gil, time and risk the life of the PT in order to keep hate with a PLD/NIN, why not just grab a PLD/WAR?
its the same with everything else. people keep coming up with stuff like, DRG/DRK to make a DRK's damage, but why do that when you can just grab a DRK?
what I mean is, why put so much effort into doing something you can do just as easily with alot less strain on yourself and the party?

If you want to use PLD in a pt , just use WAR as sub it works and it seems like the best for the moment. solo whatever you like. as easy as that!

Okay, I need to ask this first and foremost, and should have asked this before.

What is the actual point of this thread?

I feel the thread starter is hiding something from us, since he is posting the exact same thread in EVERY SINGLE JOB FORUM.

What are you planning to do, make a "guide" in which you haven't really contributed, while taking everyone else's opinions and comments and not giving credit? Even if you do give credit, it's only common sense and courtesy to tell everyone what you're planning to do before you use their information in your own personal guide or whatnot.

Also, I don't really see the point of this thread. You never ask for good subs, effective subs, anything... instead you say something like :

How you pick the combos doesn't matter. You can choose combos based on what you would play, whether or not you would invite a character with that combo into your PT, draw names from a hat, or whatever... it's your prerogative.

Combos that recieve a certain number of votes (undecided for now) will be listed and ranked according to popularity of vote.

How the hell this will be useful is totally beyond me. Rather, this would be extremely misleading. There is no weighting factor here, you are giving the same credibility to someone who has never played the game, someone who has never played the job, someone who randomly "draws names from a hat"... how the hell is this going to be informative?

So again the question... what are you, ipwnzuallimsol33t, actually planning to do with all this information, and why is it so important that you have to post it in every single job thread?

I just find all these threads started by this user as very suspicious and self-defeating.

Thanks for the link. That proves even more that this thread is pointless. He's just another of those cookie cutter haters who think just because he paid his enormous monthly fee to play this game that he can do whatever the heck he wants. He can, sure, but the reason people ask for advice on these forums is in order to become a better player. Not to ask others to "draw names from a hat" and pick a subjob randomly.

No... if you want to play WHM/DRG, that's your call, but you don't come to a forum and expect to get bad advice like that.

The fact is, you CAN play whatever combination you want. But if you go anon so your PT doesn't know you're using some crappy sub, and later they realize it and wish they never picked you up, you're just being selfish and ruining their time (they paid their fees too).

If you aren't anon and you have some crappy subjob, you won't get invites. Hell, even melee DD's with good subjobs hardly get invites. And from my knowledge, sitting in Jeuno for 10 hours looking for a party does not equate as fun.

Anyway, I hope this thread is closed soon. It serves no purpose other than spamming the same question over the span of 12 or more boards.

Besides, he's just too lazy to use the damn Search button and find the 1000's of subjob threads himself.

All subjob discussions aside, it seems that it all started because he doesn't like the tone in Shiela's post.

Sorry-- I thought I was fairly clear about my purpose... looking back, maybe not.

Anyway, yes, the reason is that myself and a few others disagree with Sheila's post. I'm not a cookie-cutter-hater, I just don't approve of that post. A poster and a mod both suggested that I find a constructive replacement, so that's what I'm doing.

It really doesn't matter who votes or how, because the purpose isn't to find out which combos actually work, as much as to find out which ones the people on these boards -think- will work. The reason is this-- when someone comes into a forum and asks if soandso/soandso will work, people tell them what they -think- will work, so even the person who's never played the game can offer their opinion I'm afraid.
