    Do.. english players... go to Eldieme... on your servers? >_>; I once saw like 5 parties packed in the crawler nest secret wall.... no joke... 5 PT.... on my server, NA are dumb... they stay at 1 dungeon forever... <_<;;

    Eldieme is nice for monk, all skel... the JP pt I was in... the war suggested to go to Eldieme because I was in.. but we had RDM... one convert will mean a skeleton party

    NA pt doesn't want to maximize the team's power, we MNKs are weak in nest, because from crawlers, to beetles to flys... they are all soft/shelled monster, both our weak place.... whereas Eldieme has all the monsters we can be best in, providing there is no DRG, RNG or RDM in team... and because of the nest-loving-natural of the NA players, they might have assumed that 'Damn, MNKs are WEAK, they can't tank, they hit slow, and they hit low!'... but amen to them...

    I currently pt with my WHM friend, she finds pt real easily, so as long as she is there, I will find pt fast and happily.... it used to take me 3 days to get 5k exp, why? I find no pt...

      Monks are good at high levels, when you have to go to Gustav to fight bones ><. And the other day, while searching for my moongate pass in Ro'Maeve, I saw a party of WAR MNK MNK WHM BLM RDM, I was kinda surprised that they had 2 monks, so I stood there for a while and watched, they were levelling on weapons, and their renkei was like Something > Raging Fists (Fusion) > Sneak/Trick Dragon Kick (Light), and it took out a big chunk of the weapon's life in just one renkei. It's hard for monks to level when everyone levels in nest since the only renkei they know is Distortion which would require DRG/RNG and DRK/THF, but when it comes to Fusion/Light and especially on bones, there's nothing better than a MNK. XD Shark Bite doesn't do much damage, and most DRKs don't level Great Sword until it's too late, so usually, MNKs are invited for Light renkei.

            On the subject of the monks sucking vs crawlers etc:

            Doesnt it depend on the weapon? So if a monk were to have both knuckles and claws in his inventory he could switch depending on the situation? Im only a L27 monk so I don't much about this but just seems logical to me.

              I've never had a problem with my damage against Crawlers or Flies. So far its just the damn Crabs that I loathe.

              Oh, and bieng a MNK made Genkai 1 dead easy - everyone and their mother wanted me in Lich parties.

                All I can mainly say is Monks are highly underrated at low levels. I myself, was one of those.. my first class i chose was Monk but switched after hitting 18 for subjob (didn't like the dmg). But up until my DRG started hitting the higher levels and partied with monks, I started to see how great they can be. So now recently i've gone back to my Monk days and been leveling it as much as I can, I want Asuran Fists >.>

                  I'm only level 30, but from what I can tell at this point, monk is the worst job at around this point, I probably wouldn't invite a monk either, unless we were fighting undead. ;p Go seek in a undead mainly zone, heh. Monk doesn't tank and doesn't do enough dmg especially at this point to be more useful than a regular dmg dealer. There is obviously stun affects monk can do, but so can other jobs. Anyways, good luck and you're probably the best dmg dealer vs undead. ;p

                    if doing 300+ damage on a ws on a regular basis is horrible...then I don't know what is...

                    I just got raging fists today and almost cried. It was sooo beautiful!

                    My only complaint...the dmg you do varies on how many hits you landed of the 5. Other than that omg...I soloed in batallia for like an hour just to use it ;p

                      The only time I felt sub-par was 21ish when I was fighting clippers in Qufim. I wondered why I missed and did such awful damage. But since I've upgraded my equipment and stopped fighting that particular family, I haven't once felt that I was an experience leech. I usually outdamage everyone in the group except maybe Dark Knights.

                      If you feel that monks suck at 30, then perhaps you're seeing the few who don't upgrade their equipment or eat food; or maybe you just need to get better at observing.
