Mithra: basic damage, Evade like no other
      Hume: Basic everything
Taru Taru: Interesting, not fit in my opinion.

edit: btw yeah items rule all. Dex items are a must for every class. my dream is 2 Amythist rings, Leaping Boots, 2 sheild Earrings, spike necklace, traveler Mantle.. pretty much the best dex stuff.

This is what i want around level 20 to 30, Elvaan Male here.
i got all of those except travelers mantel, u forgot emperors hairpin

One thing I am mad about is why don't hume's have a real spear stance? Mithras spear stance owns all. Thats the 1 major thing that ticked me off about that >_<. Holding a spear like an axe just looks stupid.

Well, no offence, but out of all the 2H stances, I'd take Hume as being the most realistic (except for 2H sword, that looks goofy no matter how you look at it). Swinging from the position a Mithra does? Ha, I'd like to see that tried out some time. Elvaan stand straight up in battle, which, in real life, would get you owned. Just be grateful that Humes actually hold their Lances/Spears like they weigh something, and actually in a swinging position. You have to be able to put weight behind your swing, hence shift your weight.

Both Mithra and Elvaan stand in a position where any weight transfer is either minimal or extremely strenuous. Then again, this is just a game, and Tarus can deal close to the same damage as a Galka with a weapon about 1/4 its size. O_O

I beat the mithra drum alot but in all truth it's not that big of a deal. As a hume you'll just have to work a little bit harder to raise your accuracy to where you like it.

I actually like how hume dragoon handle thier weapons, a bit more than the way mithra do. But I do not like how hume males do penta thrust. heh.

4 pokes, a step foward and a last poke.. they look so off balance. But very effective none the less.

Just keep in mind the stat that decides if you suck or rock is your accuracy. Dragoon is an ACCURACY based class. HP is meaningless, you shouldn't be getting hit.

I like Elvaan the best as Dragoon...but the other day i was watching that big ass battering ram and a hume dragoon with the bald head came riding by on a chocobo and got off it and in seconds did some kind of super jump from like across the map and killed it in one hit...i swear to god it was the baddest focking thing i ever saw..

One thing I have noticed recently is race seems less of a factor than equipment to dragoon which I attribute to the accuracy bonus trait. Over the last few days of grouping I've noticed I generally gain TP faster than any non-dragoon, even mithra. I would like to test it out more extensively but lately when I've grouped generally I gained 100% in the same time a Mithra DRK got around 50% (he didn't have poor equipment either as far as dex/accuracy items, even had a sniper's ring). The following day I grouped with a Mithra THF and generally was gaining 100% TP in the time they would gain around 60-70% - again wasn't lacking in equipment on that person either, and by default significantly higher dex. I only have + 10 dex worth of equipment, and only +3 accuracy from Battle gloves as an Elvaan, so I can only attribute the difference to the accuracy bonus trait. In general, I don't miss too much on IT check monsters either, they still happen of course. I thought I read something in the update about accuracy being improved on higher level characters (how high, not totally sure). This is with a warrior sub job btw so not like I have samurai sub and am confused why I gain TP faster. ;p

Anyone else noticed this in parties?

I know a hume dragoon who is the same lvl as me. He subs warrior while i usualy sub theif. I have the same dex as his base stats but have more strength, if i sub warrior he has 2 more dex and i have 4 more strength. Not to mention that i have more hp and vitality then him. So i think elvaan is better dragoon, but not to huge of a difference. I dont have much accuracy problems with battle gloves, 2 balance rings, and i think some of my armor gives dex boost. I was using spike knecklace but replaced it with tiger stole since i wasnt having accuracy problems. So i think elvaan is better dragoon, but not to huge of a difference. So just pick whichever you like the look of more.

Edit: By the way the hume dragoon wishes he picked Elvaan.
