Ok... after reading that interview with Square Enix and there statement about dark knights not getting anymore improvements has got me very worried. To be frank, our 2 hour sucks. In my opinion a 2 hour is an ability that will turn the tides of a bad battle in your favor....it doesn’t guaranty a victory but it helps you get closer to one. Dark Knights 2 hour does not do this.
Our 2 hour is selfish, it gives us and only us back hit points. But the problem with that is we miss almost 1 out of the 3 hits we can achieve before it wears off. Even if you get all 3 hits your going to get like 200 hit points back and you'll loose them even faster if the monster is hitting you. Yes, you can use it with soul eater for about 300-400 damage and HP in return but that 300 hit points isn’t going to help you if the monster already killed the rest of your party. And most times, you need more than 400 damage to kill the monster or hurt it badly so it’s not really worth it. Also with the Soul Eater combo it will get you insane hate and probably wind you up dead if the group has to use 2 hours to kill the monster in the first place.
So now I have reached the part of my argument for a alternate suggestion. Dark Knights are the masters of melee damage, shouldn't our 2 hour do damage? So I have 1 suggestion.
1) Our 2 hour becomes some what like ninjas. Once activated you go on a massive rampage with your weapon. It lowers your delay rate, ups your damage and increases accuracy. You hack away at it for 29 seconds doing a lot of damage and at 30 seconds just before your 2 hour expires, you execute a instant death swing (to the monster)....at the cost of your own life (no exp loss). This would generate lots of hate but if the monster dies before 30 seconds is up you won’t die.
I also have looked at possible abuses. For example solo'ers using their 2 hour to kill an IT monster and cancel it before 30 seconds. Well to fix that make it so that once you use it… it’s going to run its full 30 seconds.
