dark knights worth...

well i was recently informed that....monks and dragoons do more melee damage then dark knight...which goes against everything ive ever heard....='( ...i wanted to use a 2h weapon and not be outdamaged by a guy who uses brass nuckles and another guy who uses a pointy stick -_-...


is this true?...awntawn? any of the other high leveld drk knights?..

if i put on full thickset+deaths scythe (93damage) life belt assult earing coral earing sniper rings...will i then be better then a good equipped monk or drg?!!?!

As many have said, it's going to be a hard struggling road up until the higher levels.

It will seem like some classes will out damage you, but stick with it, eventually you will top them out. Yes, Samurai and Dragoon deal out some pretty good damage, but past 60ish mark, Dark knight takes it once again.

Play it smart, play it slow, don't rush. Always get the best weapon, spells and gear you can buy. Farm as nessescary. You will do fine.

i don't know about how u guys play or what equipment you have, but i'm outdamaging the mnks and drg in all my parties, it's usually b/c they're always underequip or don't know how to play to your full potential

being a good player and knowing DRK's strong point, plus always wearing the latest armor, you'll kick butt, i represent my DRK class very well, everyone loves me in pt.

sometimes i do more dmg then BLM when i have berserk+lastresort+souleater stacked, did 600+dmg total against an IT mandarogas in kazham in one battle

i don't anything about being lvl60+, but right now at lvl31, my drk is definitely kicking butt and so far the only ones i think does more dmg then me is a RNG or a good blm with all his spells up to date.

I am in the same boat as Supertle. At level 28 I am out damaging all other meleers by at least ten points in damage and I've had PT members complamenting on the damage that I output.

I'm currently in the middle area, just a few levels before having guillotine. When it comes to regular hits, I seem to hit harder than any of the other classes. But as for weapon skills, I'm getting completely owned. Dragoons, samurai, hell even a tanking warrior can out-damage me on weapon skills with rampage. That's gonna change very soon though

Heh, you're comparing dark knight to a monk in Yhoator. I think the people who talk about the monks dealing uber damage are referring to the 70+ levels.

Ditto. I have never met a Dragoon or Samurai that has outdamaged me. However, Dragoons have not yet achieved the divine weapon skill. Penta Thrust. I think once that happens, we'll be worthless damagers unfortunatly. Samurai on the other hand is pretty damn impressive after 30. Meditate is so incredible. He had well over 100% TP every single battle. Everytime we renkei'd he was in the 200%'s.

But, once we hit 60 and we recieve the WS from the very depths of hell. We will be superior. Darkness always wins.

i am talking about comparing drk to monk to drg damage wise the whole game...monks deal uber damage at 70+?....isnt cross cleave(or whatever its called) good weapon skill?....

what does penta thrust renkei with?...from what ive heard..penta does 300-400 damage..i can do sneak+last resort+powerslash>sneak+trick+viper bite...and that will be more effective then penta solo i belive -_-;...


drgs get penta thrust at what? 42?....so drks will be replaced till level 60 in most groups looking for good damage ='(...so how do we gain 18 more levels w/o groups!? O_O..

Cross-reaper is indeed a fine WS........but Asuran Fists is better.

Sad but true. MNK and DRK are more alike now than ever. MNK eventually come out a little ahead in the damage department and DRK is a little more versitile.

only thing that keeps a drk stronger then a a mnk is darkness to use darkness full potentail you need to be a galka -_- but elv arnt to far behind..and you cant use berserk+last resort+darkness and cancel them once your ws is over.. use darkness alone and make it last the full minute thats how drk are stronger

exactly, what puts drk's ahead of all the other melee classes, or at least evens them out, is souleater.

To play a drk to its full potential, learn how to use this ability. otherwise, mnks/drg's/sams will probably best drk in terms of dmg.

in reality, all the offensive melee's are about equal, By this i mean drk/drg/sam/mnk all do about equal damage. So there really is no "best" attacker between them, so rest assured, you havent chosen the wrong class by going DRK, just play it and have fun.

but at my level even dragoon/samurai gets chosen over me(god only knows why)........and i hate it >_<..when i actually get in game again...i hope they are all like level 60 so i have no1 taking groups! :dead:

In my linkshell there is a person who is using War/Nin and is meeting or exceeding my damage still at this point. I keep telling him it's going to change, but i've been saying that for 10 levels, lol.

Dual Axe's = teh pwn, especially when double attack kicks in. Here's to me actually fitting my role as the best melee damage out there.
