mp is a bit lacking earlier on, if you can afford it wear astral rings for extra mp from 10 on. switch to +int later. if not, then just use eremite's rings til 40 and go for electrums, but only if you're still having mp problems. past 40 (especially after hitting 41), i don't think i had very many mp problems. -

Was wondering is it advisable to have a hume as mage? would the disparities be large between a taru taru n hume?
which would be considered a next better race to be a blm?Comment

Tarutaru make the best Black Mages. However the best Black Mages are not always Tarutaru. It's not what you pick, it's how you play. ^_^
As for the main topic, I did +INT early on to help cap my spells, then switched to MP as having more INT became useless.Kuno's super cool stats!

i've always had a lot of +int. i recently tried on a whm's set of equipment geared towards +mp...i added 100mp to my pool at the cost of 14 or so points of int...no thanks

Int imo, but not necesarily on every slot.
Electrum/Gold Hairpin and Custom Slacks are probably better than the Int items for those slots. Might also want to try MP swapping.

i actually did use a gold hairpin instead of the erudite's headband that i had, since 1 int is a pretty good tradeoff for 30mp but once i got my AF hat...whoo! 25 mp and 4 int
as for the custom slacks, i also used those til my AF pants.Comment

hmm but if i were to use a hume blm... would i face any difficulties in finding parties at higher levels? it seems like everyone would choose their party at higher levels.... so i m terribly afraid of getting a class which would be discriminated against...Comment

The difference on paper is pretty staggering towards the end, but on the field, hume/mithra/taru blm are pretty similar; they all fill the role well. I know it's cliche but if you play well, you'll be recognized.Comment

right now i have INT+ items ( Erimite rings, Ryl. Ftm. Tunic, Yew Wand) but as soon as i can get good mp+ items i will switch... cause pies r god and fine for int plus..... but til i can get the mp+ items i get Rollanberry(sp?)PiesEvery dead body that is not exterminated, gets up and kills. sigh.....i realli wish to get a hume to be a mage..but seems like i dun have a choice...
