Is it all really worth it?

I've had the best equips I could have ever since I bought a Black Tunic even when I could've gotten by with a royal footman's tunic. My question wasn't about pride, it was about a simple inquiry.

Is spending hours, days, or even weeks farming/bcnming/whatevering to make your money for the ridiculously expensive gear WORTH IT. Does it make you that much of a better black mage that it's noticeably worse for you to not have them?

No, it doesn't make you that much better. How much time is invested to farm for all the money to get said equips would be a key variable here.

When I got all that stuff you suggested to me I didnt really notice much of a difference. Sure a few enfeebles land easier bit its nothing extraordinary. I don't think all this uber equipment makes you that much better, therefore not worth it, but gives you bragging rights and that fact that people go "Wow look what you got and I dont." But I do love that ^^ Some dude was like in awe that I had the Headband, rings, earrings and all my spells (Aside from Warp and Drain, damn quest spells) Equipment is just nice to have.

a taru who thought he was decently equipped got whupped by me in a nuke-off. i'd say that in itself was worth my trouble ^_^. on all regular spells, i'd do a few points more of damage...maybe 10-20, but on blizzard type spells (with my ice staff) my damage was by far, superior. but by now, it seems like my equipment has become average...i paid 400k for my ice staff and 720k for my dark. ice is now 230k and dark is 400k on my server...nearly broke into tears .

Pfft. Ice and Dark staff are around 450k... combined.

Ice Staff: 600-650k (I paid 600)
Dark Staff: 800-850k (I got it crafted for 560)

Current combined price: ~800k

because everyone and their mother found out how to grow elemental ores....so we went from 5-10 in stock per day, to 30-80 in stock per day.

i found out how to grow them last month but i didn't have enough time due to finals to cash in on the wave (and going home for summer break).... i guess i'll go back to farming. *never has any luck*

might take a while though, seeing as people like to mostly make dark ores, it seems. That'll change as the price on dark ore plummets lol.

but the point is, i've worked so hard to become better than average, as far as equipment goes. all of a sudden, its gonna be so easy. so what am i supposed to do then when everyone and their grandma has every single elemental staff?
