How should I spend my money? o.o

I have enough to confuse me. I have to pick between robes and tunics and cuffs or mitts. Hats, circlets or head bands. Different types of earrings and rings (settled on Eremite Rings and oynx Earrings) Boots and legs I dont really have a choice and i am going to go with Scentless Armlets for my arms. I am thinking I will stick with Robes rather than going with the Royal Footman Tunic even though it gives me an Int bonus I don't think its worth the lack of defense or the bonuses head gear can give me. I have a Travellers Hat that adds to Mnd but I can't decide on to get a Fungus Hat with extra resistance, stick with my hat or get some other type of head gear. I was thinking about Sage's Circlet but its not listed in AH, odd. Someone said Druid's Headband, I think it was Nodoka, but I think that is a higher level than I am. Question to Nodoka were you suggesting I just keep any head gear til I can equip a Druid's Headband? Same with the Black Silk Neckerchief you suggested? Most armor I will probably just go with Linen(Ex. Linen Cuffs, Linen Robes, Linen Slops and Holly Solea) unless anyone can give a better suggestion. For my staff I currently have a Freesword's Staff which I great, Legionarre would be nice but it just adds more attack damage than the Freesword so their is no point wasting gil on it. Sorry that was so long. That about covers my entire problem, if anyone can help me out in the least please do. Thank you all in advance and thank you Nodoka for your previous help.

IMO you'll want as much INT as you can get at those levels. Def isn't really that important.

If your worried about elemental resistance have your whm cast a bar spell, I'm also pretty sure the fungus hat hat adds no int. At level 20 or whatever you should just get a robe and a hairpin if you are hume. It's cheap and effective. There are no good MP + rings til level 40 unless you can buy astrals so just use erimites. The first 40 levels go by so fast you shouldn't worry about equip so much. Just make sure you pick up your rse pants and boots.

Yeah i was looking around a found equipment that can serve me decently until level 30 or so atleast until i can get Summoner and start leveling it. Afterwards I will go for my RSE and then just go with the flow. Pick up new stuff as I go. Spells of course take higher priority. I haven't gotten any Bar Spells... think I should? I hear they aren't worth it.

Yes. Get your bar-spells, but have someone get them from jeuno rather than paying AH prices

It's mostly as a "in case the whm dosen't have/use them" type thing. Which means you'll be using them a lot if you don't have a set party. :p Barwater really makes a difference with pugils, Barearth for worms.. and barfire makes a big difference with goblin bombs, bombs, etc. I wouldn't say that they're needed all the time, but it definitely sucks if they're needed and you don't have them.

Might be a little Im leveling WHM to 15 and using the gil to get new BLM equipment. Then getting BLM to level 20 getting my Cho and making runs of cabbage to Selbina. *sigh* I hate fame. Edit: You should be advised that bar-status are mostly duration reducers unless you stack them with the appropriate bar-element as well.

Following the advice of people here, I got myself a Dark Staff, woot. I believe it is an excellent choise. I didnt think it would be so good until I got it... then wow.

But now Im not sure what I should go after. I was originally thinking Vermillion cloak now.. but I'm leaning towards going for the Serket/Astral first. So I dunno what to go after. Serket + Astral is a wooping 75 MP.. o.o Wowza. But autorefresh and such~ Ahh.. I cannot choose. >.<

Do you have an ice staff yet? If you do, then I'd go for serket/astral rings. If you don't, buy the ice staff. I highly suggest you don't waste 3 million gil on getting +1 mp/tick. I partied with a blm with vermillion the other day (he also had darkstaff/icestaff), and he was only marginally more effective than I was (I use apple pie +1 for the +2 mp recovery). Had I a darkstaff, I would've been more effective. I had about 80 more mp, as well (he was tarutaru with full sub, and one level lower than me. At the time, I was lv66/31 (hit 32 today ; ).

congrats! ever since i got my dark and ice staff, i feel completely gimped without them.

personally, i would go for the vermillion, because it looks totally sexy...but thats just for looks. the rings are probably better overall, but thats a pretty tough decision. here's what i'd do...i'd buy the cloak, level to 68, sell the cloak, get a black cloak and buy serket ring + astral ring

And yes, Verm is very sexy. I'm probably gonna get the rings and the verm, but It's really one or the other right now, and I dunno which to get first. Fishing up 2 mill is gonna take alot of my sanity away, and I will probably level up a bit between getting verm and rings. o.x;

Although I don't get what you're saying about him not being effective. The AF body and hat don't really do too much except for the -enmity and some INT. They dont give elemental skill or anything extremely useful..


Although.. when I get to Black Cloak, I wont wear my Verm again, right? Although I may keep it for my whm..

Congrats on your Dark Staff. I personally would get the Vermillion Cloak for the refresh. Im a low level so I dunno if my two gil really helps.

And before anyone mentions it, yes I am gonna get a thunder staff (maybe a fire one too), but after I get this stuff first. It seems now all the spells I cast are thunder or ice spells. O.x; You crazy crabs.
