  • BLM spell interruption

Some1 posted that spell interruption even b4 engagement is due to server/client latency.

somehow I realized that armor is in fact the major factor. for eg, i am now a lvl 10 BLM. for body armor, I am wearing a robe, compound circlet for head, etc

there is a tunic that I can wear that is mutually exclusive to headgear that will bump my DEF up to more that what i am wearing above, BUT my spells get interrupted almost ALL THE TIME.

When I changed back to the lower DEF shit, things became normal again.

Does anyone want to confirm this? I can't seem to find anything official on this.

    1) don't move while casting
    2) time the casts between the mob's hits.
    3) reduce spell interruption gear

There are two cases where I know spell interruption can occur:

      (1) You are casting a spell on a non-red target, and someone else in the party turns it red. This will ALWAYS cause your spell to interrupt. I don't know why this is, but it is easily avoided by waiting until you see the target turn red before you start casting. I can only assume that it has to do with "claiming" a target - at the moment you "claim" it, all other incoming attacks are cancelled.

      (2) The spellcasting bar progresses from 0% to 100%. If you are hit with physical damage when the bar is anywhere between 20% to 80%, you have a chance to be interrupted. Any other time, and your spell will go off properly no matter what damage you take (unless you're dead of course ;P )

Managing spell interruption is really easy once you understand the timing. Start casting right as you are about to get hit, and you shouldn't have any prooblems. Even when I solo I think I only get interrupted less than one percent of the time (and much of that is due to small lag spikes that throw off my timing on occasion).
