Hey all i was talking with some guys on my server n i heard of something called Ancestral Magic. I heard BLM get it at really high lvls but i'm not to sure what it is heh. is it a nuke? any info would be appreciated thx .

I think the first one is lvl 50 - Freeze - 307 mp - Ice - Elemental - 17.75 cast time- 41.50 recast time - Deals ice damage to an enemy and lowers it's resistance against fire.

There are 6 Ancient Magic spells for BLM, corresponding to the 6 base "elemental" elements (not Light and Dark). They cost a LOT of MP, are usually difficult to acquire, and do large amounts of damage.

Just going from memory:
Freeze - Ice damage, lowers defense to Fire
Flare - Fire damage, lowers defense to Water
Flood - Water damage, lowers defense to Lightning
Burst - Lightning damage, lowers defense to Earth
Quake - Earth damage, lowers defense to Wind
Tornado - Wind damage, lowers defense to Ice

ancient nukes own if you have 2 BLM in the PT and your tanks are competant enough to work with you to burst them.

say hello to a dead IT in 20 seconds every other pull with your healer at full MP because he only had to cast 2 heals on the tank before the mob died.

plenty of time for you to regen the 300ish MP on the next pull and still maintain chain's up to 5 and 6.

dont listen to the nay sayers My group has flown from 50-55 using this tactic (3 nights play).

That doesn't sound that bad. I think that I am going to have to work on getting some when I get a little higher.

Its only happened once tho 5 chains happen on about 80% of the chains tho.

i am not some newbie who hasn't been through those levels,
at level 53 you can mb what... tournado? freeze? even if you were taru at that level those mb will do at max 900... or probably 850 WITH day of week and weather effect they can do what... 1000? 2 mb together will do 2000 and lets say your pld and drg renkei for a combo of 500 damage (that's a fucking woopy dood for pld drg combo)
2500 hp... it probably will be 4/5 of the hp of the monster that level has or they might even have more.

and about your 6 chain bs
there has been enough test, (i have even tried it myself) that pull 2 onajiku mobs at end of 4 chian, kill one to almost no life, finish the other full life one, got 5 chain, i bomb the almsot no life one dead with 1 blm which takes like no longer than 10 seconds than the 5th chain died and we still didn't get 6chain... 6 chain is such a rumor...

and i never have pld/thf/drk combo, i hate drk (you suck skye D;/)
if you think pld/thf/drk is the thing people do, it shows how much you know shit about this game

1130-1150 with weather effects.


We did get an exp chain #6, chose not to beleive it thats your problem.

And for knowing so little about this game me and my group sure do play it well.

hi, just wanted to say that 6 chain is not bs

i got 3 #6 chains today leveling my sub in korroloka.

all JP party, went from 16-20 in a couple of hours chaining worms

party setup was nin/war (blink tank), smn/whm, whm/blm (me), war/mnk, drg/war, thf/mnk

never rested, chain 4, 5, 6 all night, 4000-5000k exp per hour

i love korroloka. for those reading, never go to valkurm...

korroloka is a low level place.

mobs also die much faster at low levels, hence its possible to get 6 chains then

at higher levels though...

You have 30 seconds after you kill the 5th chain monster to kill the next monster and get a 6 chain, and I think 7 chain is 15 seconds. Doesn't happen much unless you link on "the shit in the way" on your way back :p

So basically it is possible to get beyond chain 10 if you could kill multiple monsters at once. I'm thinking an alliance, 6blm's total, area nukes up the ass.

Has anyone tried that? (And i know the xp would suck, i'm just wondering.)
