Which kind of NPC for BST?

Hi, ive been struggling with this for a while:

What kind of NPC would work best with bst? attacker, healer, tank, etc..?

Unless youre main is whm, brd, smn, blm and possibly rdm healer is the best npc type in my opinion. They don't follow the same rules as regular jobs so they can be healing your status ailment and using penta thrust, rampage or raging fists.

thanks! yes, i plan to be exclusively bst (its the only job i enjoy)

im gonna be bst/nin and bst/whm depending on the situation, giving preference to bst/nin.

I would like to choose an npc that will be the best compliment for a bst, no worries about other jobs.

I have a healer npc too, though I only really use it when farming. Back when spider webs were worth something, I farmed in West Altepa a lot. The spiders were still ep, so I'd Familiar a Cactuar, then use juggies when it died (not terribly efficient, but fun nonetheless). My npc was really handy when I occassionally had an unfortuate pop and got a link. Call Beast down, hp in red, just about to Charm the mob to survive, when a Cure III comes my way .

I have mine set to healer. She's past lvl 40 and pretty much keeps me hasted. Although I really wish I could toggle her debuffs to off in some situations. "No, Jesimae, the spider does NOT need to be silenced." ; ;

It's like half the WHMs I've partied with in Qufim and Yuhtunga.

Once you get your NPC to 61, you'll never want to switch it from anything other than healer. Cure V is so nice.

BTW, they'll cast silence on any mob that has MP even if they aren't casters. It's why they try and silence crabs and beetles. Never realized spiders had MP though.

Remember you can change at any time. You can try them all out and see what works best for you.
