I get rather pissed when we're respectful of a groups beetles and they start taking our bats.
I would have to say that's because most players don't know how and where BSTs need to level. I know that when my static was levling in Garlaige, we took what ever exp we could. Now, we just consider a BST in a zone to be a party in and of himself/herself so as to give them plenty of breathing room. I bet if more non-BST players knew something about BST leveling, then there wouldn't be as many problems for you guys.

    Be like a Paladin.
Take the hit, shrug it off, and ask if their mom hits any harder.

Yes, it's pretty sad when on top of bst vs party conflicts you have bst vs bst conflicts when we compete for the same spots. Many times in bst areas such as Toramarai Canal I've arrived to find a bst the same as me already camped, so I asked if he wants to team up. I've most almost all JP bst won't team up with NA bst with some exceptions. In other zones where there are higher level mobs, two bst can team up for even greater exp, but against T most bst still seem to prefer soloing.
I would like to preface this statement with the fact I have met many nice japanese players and had a few really good japanese player groups where I was one of two american players. I have to admit though, there are a very large number of rude japanese players. They do not try and bridge the cultural/language gap and will tend ot ignore you 9 times out of 10, even when you use the translator. I find that EXTREMELY annoying. What's worse is when you send a tell to them in english and they don' respond. The polite thing to do would be to respond saying I don't speak english. It's THAT easy. I would then send another tell using the translator. That's just a pet peeve of mine.

At the end of a night on Cape Terrigan, I checked the damage parse and much to my amusement my jug pet alone (Saber Sivarade) did the same damage per battle as the drk... on its own.
I have to admit BST DoT is some of the best out there. I just wish we could use jug pets in Dynamis without them going berserk. Ahh well. You raise a very good point that most people have our pet damage filtered out and don't use a parser. Don't discredit the natural feel of the fights though. If they feel the mob is going down faster with a BST there then another member you have still made headway in acceptance of BSTs in a party. Personally I think it'd be GREAT to have a PROPERLY equipped BST in a party. I do admit I'm rather biased and would make them use the best tiger jug available(unless they were above the cap). Well, I'd probably accept the funguar jug too since that'll be better DoT then carrie at higher levels.

I think the big problem and the reason we gripe so much about PTs is the fact that they don't understand us nor take the time to understand us. I think anyone out there who complains about us complaing should go rot in hell. We all have the right to complain but don't try and dismiss this as illigitamate. Some stuck up WHM or BLM(just using this as an example) has no idea how hard it actually is playing a BST. I would have to say BST by far is the most difficult job in the game. It just makes it worse when parties do not show common ccurtousey. Albeit the curtousey thing might just be a person thing (people not bring brought up properly is anothing discussion entirely). The party vs. BST conflict will just be something we have to live with. My philosophy on why PTs due that is because they are rude, inconsiderate, and have psychological issues in real life making them vent their frustrations on people in an online game(again, another discussion entirely).

Yes, it's pretty sad when on top of bst vs party conflicts you have bst vs bst conflicts when we compete for the same spots.
I think we forget too easily that in some level brackets there are only 1-2 spots to level realistically.
28-32 in Korroloka can be jam packed in BST- i think there were 5 in there last night...and that is starting to stretch the zone a little.
Qufim can not handle 30 really- so I may end up trying Castle Oztroja? tonight to see if I can make a go of it.

But I think out of all classes, BST are just behind WHM/RDM for helping others- the job for some reason provides insight on classes, jobs and helping out.

Lol leaving Qufim the other night to try Korroloka for the first time, I was nearly dead and out of mp and about to enter the the cave route to Jeuno.
A level 19 war tries to run past 2 worms, and gets bind and stone in about 2 secs. There was noone close enough to help him before he died
You cold see death looming, and without charm there was nothing I could do. But with Charm- attacked the other worm- took both out. Then zoned, leaving one worm to recover.
I think if more people saw the little things like that early on.
I find the other amusing thing to do is Charm and 2hr the Kraken and help out levelling parties from Wights and links in Qufim. And that really gets you some thanks.

I also handed out tons of coffer keys to ppl when lving in garliage.

The downside to helping ppl is that now everyone on bismarck suddenly seem to think that if they need a coffer key, go ask a bst.

If they actually knew me, it'd be nice but I've been getting a lot of "Hey I know bst are great at getting coffer keys, go get me one." from total strangers.

Ppl seem to see bst as some sort of tool that can help them whenever they need it because we are never in a pt usually so we must have all the time in the world.

          When we are actually lving in a spot they are at, I get messages all the time of {beastmaster}{leave}

Geee I don't know how much good giving out coffer keys is doing for bst reputation now. Apparently all it did was make ppl think that we're all super eager to get them hard to find a pt for AF keys and yet we're still despised everywhere else.

Maybe I should just go back to being anti-social and not help anyone cause at least I get a lot less random tells to get other ppl AF keys that way. And since I would have never helped anyone, I might actually feel like I deserve some of those "get out, you ruin my exp" lines from some sort of evil karma.

Sorry bout the rant. Just had a bunch of idiots keep sending me random tells all day while I tried to lv. Very frustrating.

Garlaige is absolutely hell...and to this day I still think I'm lucky enough to quickly exp Bst during off-peak hours to get out of that infernal area. However, I only leveled my Bst up to 57 in Garlaige. From there on, I always duo in Quicksand caves up to 60. No PTs to deal with. No complaints.

Sad to hear your bad experiences in Garlaige, Sudo, but at least after that, there shouldn't be too much competition in other areas except against other Bsts.

As long as some BST have this attitude, people are going to have negative feelings towards BST.
If I am first to a camp and another party arrives and sets up camp on top of me, I warn them one time and one time only that I have to release pets which will agro and link with their pulls. Regardless of what they choose to do, I continue releasing pets and playing as I was before they arrived.

If there is a party in a camp spot first, and I show up after the fact, then I will either choose to exp there another time or take extra precautions (at additional risk to myself) to prevent them from having to move.

I am a firm believer in the "I was here first" principle. If I am charming agro/linking pets and you camp on top of me, you do so at your own risk. Note this has nothing whatsoever to do with intentional MPK, just a statement of what can and will happen to your party if they make a stupid decision in choosing a camping spot. If your party is in a given spot first, and I come to exp alongside you, then I will do everything I can to make sure you aren't forced out of your spot by my pets.

Moral of the story: be polite to me and I will be twice as nice to you. Ask any of the people who have encountered me lately in Kuftal.
