      Laehn,

Last i checked, our complain/debate is about high lvl subbing BST and getting the 95% benefits of a High Lvl BST job. It is not about comparing pets damage against a normal melee damage so i suggest you stick to this topic if you want to continuing arguing with us. Going off track will only bring in unnecessary distraction.

Our bst job abilities stop at lvl 35(Release). After that all we get is job traits that any job can have if they use items with latent effect and subbing bst. It seems that up till now you still do not understand why we complain. My question to you is Laehn, if everyjob can sub Bard and have access to 90% of Bard's songs including all the important songs, will you feel good about it?

Thank you Qillendrel for bring some good arguments into this debate and by helping to keep it on track.

          High level bst subs

I know it works well. It's not easy to charm EM as /bst, but I've had a lot of success with DC pets to the point where I've levelled my ninja/bst solo past level 30 so far. It's nice... blink, and for once, FULL power enfeebles. I also farm as level 60 thief/bst which works just amazing in the right zones.

Killer traits BLOW, they are completely useless and they don't help kill anything since they were nerfed. I'd like to try them with AF trousers and tamers ring to see if theres any improvement, but what really kills me is that they are not offensive traits at all, and they should be. If they were actually good with trousers and tamers ring, then there'd be more reason to be bst main. I think the trousers should give us the old haste/slow effects from killer to make it worth using as bst.

the tamer's ring is pretty ineffective as far as I've noticed. And also the whm sub auto regen tends to push up back over the top if we're marginal.

Also, low on HP = death usually so I try and not to stay down in yellow too much XD

But just wait till you get a light staff. That thing totally invalidates all the chr and charm equipment bst get from AF's and the like.

I can charm better naked with a light staff than I can with all my equipment on and no light staff.

That thing is awesome for bst to have but it also sorta unbalances things quite a bit.

Actually I trioed with a couple other BSTs the other day and one of them told me that the latent effect on the Tamer's Ring isn't triggered by health. He points to the BRD ring which, I guess, triggers when they have a song effect on themselves. He told me that the Tamer's Ring probably triggers when we have a pet, which makes sense becasue that is when the mobs aren't attacking me so I'd need an increase in my Killer Effects. :dead: If that is true, then S-E really screwed up there.

really? I never heard of that before but then again I'm not a brd.
ya, killer effects with a pet... really wonderful XD

Are you sure he's not talking about the melody earrings?

I know he wasn't talking about melody earrings, but who knows. We were specifically talking about the rings. Regardless, though, I have yet to notice any difference and am getting rid of the ring, because it's just taking up space in my inventory.

The closest thing to a BST was the Tamer from FFV (BST AF is modeled on after this job's look.) They could !Capture enemies to !Release for a special attack. They could also !Control and enemy and have it use it's special abilities, but at the cost of his own turn.
