  • Just got back in game, how's BRD compared to last year?

So I recently came back to the game after about a year break. I am a BRD64. Been a few weeks now and have reacquinted myself with the game with lower level jobs such as WHM (my sub, got to 38 from 32) and PUP (got to 21).

I still haven't partied as a BRD yet, as I don't know anything about the new zones, both CoP and ToAU ones. So a little scared here. Also, how have the party play styles changed at mid 60s? I hear about MP and TP burn parties all the time now and people want BRD to pull. Is that true? I have never pulled before in "traditional" parties and frankly don't like pulling

This is the classic "I don't wana be like a n00b" syndrome that returning players have. Help me ease my fear?

You might very well get asked to pull as a Bard. This can be done with good time management even as /WHM (I should know, I still use /WHM ), but you might find it a bit of culture shock compared to the much more sedate role of a Bard in a traditional XP party.

Pulling isn't really that hard. Just make SURE you have a Mary's Horn. Can't stress enough how important that one instrument is when you're pulling, since Lullaby is your emergency "Get out of trouble free card", and you need it to be as reliable as possible.

      Thanks Icemage!

I do have the Mary's Horn and a Light Staff, so I should be fine with Lullaby (can't afford an Apollo's Staff )

It's as I feared then, I suppose I might be able to get used to it. We will have to see. It's just that I enjoy the little time in between fights as little breaks
