  • O.o Think About it

    w/ the new expansion comming up i was thinkn a couple things mainly w/ blue mage... what would its abbriviation be? Blu? or what also what would the mishes be calld (i.e ZM, PM) i was thining AU (Aht Urhgan) or TAU ( added Treasures)

    Ya, I'm guessing it would be BLU, and if you go by what people have chose to use for the missions in the past, I'd say ToA or TA.

    I guess we have no way of knowing until the expansion arrives o.o

      Probably ToA...but then it'll be changed to what you have access to. Example:

      <sea> <sky> etc.
      All spells obtained!

        I wonder what is left to get access to... we have sky, sea and i think the moon... what's left? underground? hey now... we dont have any of that yet do we? o.o

          I heard this expansion is going to be different then the other ones and not be based on missions, so perhaps there will be no areas like Sea or Sky.

            Well, I know if you head out of upper jeuno and travel north along that wall, you get to a dead end tunnel, much like there used to be in north gustaburg, that is now an entrance to Oldtown Movopolis... So maybe it will be (underground) or something...

              Personally I would screw Blue Mage altoghether and anyone who could find a use for it. I mean seriously, nothing could it do that a Red Mage could'nt do already.

              Now a "GeoMancer" that would be cool, where your magic power and stats would vary depending on the weather type, and special items you have. You would get to be able control the enemy's weaknesses and use different elemental effects on the suroundings and onto your party (Simular to what a Black Mage can cast only better since the power varies on weather conditions.)

              I still have yet to see how a 'Blue Mage' could serve any purpose for a party.

                  I know plenty enough about the 'fantasies' though if you would like to prove me wrong please tell me anything special that Blue Mage can do that an enfebbler/healer/magic DDer could'nt do already. I would just hate to see a sad 20+ Blue Mages LFP loitering in Jueno.

                      I fail to see anythign cool happening from blue mage after I read this:

                      Blue Mage will be between a Red Mage and a Dark KNight..
                      my first thought was "then why the hell would anyone want it?" lets see dark knight is part damage dealer, and a small part enfeebler, red mage is a major enfeebler, so i guess that makes blue mage a shit enfeebler.

                      what purpose would another mage have that the current mage classes could'nt offer already, which i think is the main question here....

                        Sin, you are a Black Mage. Please don't talk about the usefulness of other jobs in a party. There is a different party set up based on what is available and what the party wants to fight. The same party that works in Cape Terrigan may not work in Labryinth of Onz. An all BLM party may not work on Pots in the sky.

                        It all depends on what you are fighting. I'm sure that enemies with strong and party crippling abilities, (Pots, Spiders with Mass Slow, etc) will be very targetable for parties with Blue Mages in them, especially if you can't get a WHM for Status Effect control.

                        It simply just remains to be seen.

                            also SE has releast some info on blumage if you read -.-; it said they use curved blades and monster abilitys so yes it would be another support type like rdm and brd yea another melee mage is all it is will they have refresh capibilitys and how they use monster abilitys no one nos yet but usefull they will prolly be

                              Curious were you got that Quote, I'd like to see it source. Blue Mages of the past FFs have never mimic'd a mixture that would be considered RDM and DRK. Their mimicry was much closer to a RDM and SMN or RDM and BST idea, like a Mime of the beasts.

                              Also if you haven't noticed many of the beasts use abilities that are unique and a normal player couldn't get. Some of the abilities a beast can do are incredibly useful, an AoE stun effect would come in handy for quite a few BCNM fights. Even the AoE Slow effect is of great help, spells of which that a RDM doesn't really have. If you look all the monster abilities that are unique to them and not really classified to a spell falling under WHM, RDM, or BLM the mobs have many abilities that can be quite useful.

                              It just all depends really how they are designed and implimented to see how useful they really are. I myself could see them being very versatile if they get certain abilities that mobs have, just have to wait though and see which they really get.
